Do you think it is okay to use ribbon as a DIY necklace?

Hey Everyone I hope you are all doing okay so I know this is a mad and crazy question but recently I bought a diary with a lock and key I also bought them mini portable printer you know ones that have been raved about on TikTok anyways.

In my diary I write about a lot of private stuff like dreams and thoughts I have because of that I want to keep it a secret. The reason I asked if it’s alright to use ribbon as a DIY necklace is because the key to my diary is small and could get lost anywhere in and out my house I wanted to wear the diary key as a necklace hence why I asked about using thin ribbon. I know this is a weird question but I wanted to ask you all what you think.

it sounds crazy but I don’t wanna loose something as someone can read my diary if it gets into their hands. It’s weird because I am 30 years old and keep a lock and key type diary/journal.

or you can get necklace type chains to hang a key from

I tried to find like key chains for my bag to attach it to that but I couldn’t find any so I thought why not turn it into a bracelet I wanted to use a thin ribbon two different colours
