My boyfriend never buys me dinner....?

Hey, maybe I'm being greedy...you let me know but, how should I go about telling my boyfriend that it insults me a little that he never treats me to dinner or to a movie (or whatever...)?

I don't want him to think that all I care about is money, it's not that, but once in a while I would like for him to treat me... am I being silly?

happen to me at first...i got no gift and I paid everything for myself! I complained alottt about it saying it feels like he didn't care about me or never thought of me cause I ALWAYS bought something if it reminded me of him! I spend time setting up surprises for him and I never got anything! till he decided to change after a year... now I'm spoiled cause he tries to give me everything I want :( not good

so yea you should tell him how you feel...even if he doesn't wanna hear it! he should know what's going on! maybe he just had no money, or he never paid for any girl, or he never knew how to treat a girl like that, etc youd never know till you guys talk about it! you're not asking for too much! a lot of girls feels the same way!

do you treat him? if so I could see how you might feel bad, but really treats should be because you want to treat, not because you want to be treated. and if you don't treat him you're just being silly. maybe he likes to care for you in ways that don't cost money. its more authentic anyways.,

No, I treat him because I love him and I want to do nice things for him. We work together, sometimes I bring him lunch, or desert. I agree with you on not giving to receive, but it makes me feel cheap that he only reciprocates when I give to him first. I feel like he's doing it because he feels that he owes me something.

well, the way I see it, is , you either accept he either shows you he cares in other ways, or you accept that the way he shows you he cares, does not make you feel like he cares. In which case you need to reevaluate whether you want to give him your time.

You really can not force someone to want to treat you a certain way. Yes you can demand it or 'persuade' him & it might work temporarily. If it does not come from him hell revert back--or just become so resentful hell break up with you.

I don't think you're being silly. A boyfriend should treat his girl out more than often. I'm not saying he should pay 100% of the time, but he shouldn't be doing what he's doing to you.

It's not silly at all, men and women alike want to feel special, wined & dined on occasion. These days it might not always be plausible to treat every-time, but it certainly isn't difficult to make a girl feel special. Especially with the little things. You said he can't even cook pasta. My response to that is that for the right girl I'd build a scale replica of Italy out of lasagna complete with marinara rivers. You just want to feel important, and there's nothing wrong with that, we all deserve to be treated. Tell him how you feel. If he's even remotely a keeper he will find a way to please, one way or another. Best of luck, hope this helps :)

well, that's something I don't understand he never treated you to these things dinner..movies..that's absurd if a guy wants a girl he should have done this things not unless he is a free loader or your spent 50/50 each time you go out

We pretty much always go 50/50. Unless I treat him, then the date after that he treats me, but always to something that costs the exact same amount that I got him.

well for me I guess that's ok..but I guess you want him to spend a little so you can feel special..as for going out spending it's OK but if you had a birthday or any special occasion he should spend more for you =)
