Like the people I know that do not work spend money like it’s a luxury, they buy things they don’t need using family money, or investment money, or their romantic partners money.
But the ones that earn their money, preserve their resources. I know rich people that will call you on the phone 20 times to save $4.00 on vegetable seeds. I know very rich people that won’t even buy you a $6.00 gift despite having billons.
I’m in neither extreme. I won’t buy a $20000 Chanel bag if I’m rich but I won’t give a $1.00 tip for a $200 meal at a restaurant either.

No I've seen people get a comfy job because they are friends with the boss of the company or they went to the same school as the employer. It's about who you know not what you know.
You are a smart girl, but some people will over look.
Sometimes its about who you know, knowing what you know. Just today I recommended a friend for a job - but he was also someone that I knew was extremely good at what he does. I also have friends I would not recommend.
It's like being a part of a college alumni or a fellowship. The college will have connections to certain companies which makes easier for you to get a job if you went to said school.
Or if you completed a fellowship and they got your back for life just in case if you lose your job. That's how people get jobs. You need friends to help you get a job.
I wish I had support like that. I am stuck on indeed.
Its a big problem. The best you can do is make sure that when you have a job, your coworkers think you are amazing. Gradually your reputation will spread. But it is difficult.
I've been on the other side of this hiring people. Huge numbers of applicants and almost all of them lie. If someone I know recommends someone, that means a lot.
