Should I still give her the nightie, or save it for someone else?

I’ve bought my friend a restored Italian leather jacket; and a decorative cat plate and stand for her birthday. I’ve bought a satin nightie, a silver plated bird bracelet, a tiny parrot painting and an embroidery cushion kit, for Christmas. Is the satin nightie too much for a new friend? I have two other friends the same size/shape who’d like it..

I’d say to do what feels most comfortable for you. Sometimes I worry about spending or doing too much with gifts, simply because I don’t want that person to feel obligated or pressured to do the same for me in return. Then again, I only gift this way with my long-time friends who know I don’t have those expectations of them. So in your position, I don't know how much difference one item would make when you have several other gifts as well, and I don't know what your relationship with her is like or how she’ll perceive it all. Just do what feels right.
