Am I selfish for not sharing my money to my relatives/friends?

Whenever I have salary I always save it I dont really treat my relatives/friends to restaurants neither they are to me. I dont even give gifts to anyone unless they are my immediate family and if only my immediate family has medical issues thats the only way I would help. Its like Im only generous to my own family but not to other people. And then when I have food I tend to be frugal and save it so that it will last for the whole day am I that selfish?

Nah, I wouldn't say you're selfish for that. It's your hard earned money after all. You gotta take care of yourself and your immediate fam first before worrying about helping out extended relatives and friends all the time.

Nothing wrong with wanting to save up and be smart about budgeting your cash either. Eating the food you bought so it doesn't go to waste isn't selfish - it's just practical, really. Saving leftovers for later means you don't gotta spend extra on eating out all the time.

And like you said, if one of your relatives has a serious medical issue then you'd still help them. That's good of you. But they can't expect you to just be spontaneously treating them to meals and gifting them stuff whenever.

I'm the same way - close friends and fam get taken care of before anyone else. That's just how it is. As long as you're not straight up ignoring people in bad situations, I think your approach is totally reasonable. Don't let anyone guilt you about it.

I return it as well of course. But I dont really give gifts to them every birthday of them they do the same to me either
