Is it bad that I pay for friends/family to do things with me?

By this I mean they cannot afford to go out and do things so I pay for their ticket or entry fee to come with me. I am a frugal person and budget my paycheck per month so I have available money to spend if occassions come around and would like to go. But friends/family usually say they cannot afford to go and I end up paying for them to go.

I do suffer from nice girl syndrome and often excuse it as an early birthday present. They make a fuss about it and go halves in their share anyway. I am definitely not rich but I enjoy gifting to others, I feel guilty at the same time because it seems like I am begging them to go with me too. I can go by myself and enjoy going by myself too.

I dont know am I in the wrong? Should I stop? I only do it once every few years. They haven't taken advantage of it

at this point, how do you know they're not lying that they can't pay? how do you know they're not taking advantage of you? if you paid once when they actually were truthful and didn't have the money, they're like hmm wonder what else i can get. i'm just saying, people (family or friends) aren't always looking out for your best interest. also, don't be around people who you feel like you have to beg to hang out with.

stop inviting them and paying for them. buy yourself something nice or save your money.

I try to buy food for my friend once in a while because I do not drive and she gives me rides but she understands this too. She paid for my admission ticket to an amusement park cause I was supposed to help babysit her kids while I was there. She also bought my entire family restaurant food cause she wanted me to babysit her kids for a few or several hours at a park that day.

No. It shows that you're kind, want the company of friends and family and don't mind paying for them to be there. I'm the same way. Money is just a tool to get and do the things you want to do in life. Happiness comes from spending time and experiencing things with loved ones. Just make sure they're never trying to take advantage of you with that and you're fine!

I have a friend that has zero money so when we go places I usually pay for her meal or tickets and even our hotel. I pay for my sister as well. I think it’s fine as long they don’t feel entitled or anything.

Im worried people will take advantage of me 😔 Or see me as a cash cow. I like gifting people things but I dont want them to see it out of pity or something else

I only do it for people I’m close with. The people I do that for are genuinely good friends/ people and they wouldn’t think that way.
So maybe only do it for people who are genuinely thankful and enjoy spending time with you.
