Do you think women like more flashy gifts or something simple and more from the heart?

I've bought certain things for wife on her Birthday Christmas whatever but i can remember years ago I made her a homemade card and she still has it after 18 years she loved it are most women like that or would want the flashy gift?

Women want EFFORT.
They want to see you pay attention. They want you to give them things that matter to them that you know because they matter to you.
If you wrote her a poem where you took every letter of her name and gave her an attribute that you like that started with that letter, she would adore it. Doesn’t matter that you made it in 10 minutes.
If you bought her a gift, something generic like a book, and wrote a message for her in the corner of the cover? She’d love it.

You lost em with the poem part tho sorry... not saying your wrong but blokes with no clue and write a poem for their partner would know they got help from somewhere and that is 50/50 good/bad depending on the girl.
Book paragraph at the end good, especially some kind of fairy/vampire smutty girly porn novel haha. I know my partner would love it.

Just saying that maybe a guy such as myself (I'm sure there is plenty like me) that would never even be able to construct a poem let alone think of doing that may raise some unwanted suspicions with a partner that knows their partner well.

Depends on the girl but most would prefer some though poured into it not just money thrown at it (it = the gift by the way).

But I'm sure there are some girls that just like expensive stuff no matter what it is.

Ya I agree I think all girls like flashly stuff I do to but was curious like I said my wife still has that card I made for her birthday in 10 min with construction paper and crayons 17 years ago

Exactly... stuff from the heart is at the same level as expensive stuff but it does depend on the girl, not saying a girl that likes expensive stuff is a gold digger or anything but literally you doing something or making something for her without her knowing even if it is a terrible gift can still mean a lot just because of the fact you were thinking about her and doing something for her without her asking or her hinting that it would be nice or whatever.
I feel the same when anyone does something like that for me because it is nice to know you are thought about and and given something that they have put their heart into without you even knowing.
I guess it is kind of like when you treat a girl right and do somethin as simple as opening the car door for them but you do it when they are not around and give it to them later or they find out later or something haha, I know what I'm trying to say but just can't find the right words (re reading that sounds crazy but I'm sure it makes sense I think).
