Why do Serbians guys have a bad reputation?

So I've been seeing this Serbian guy lately and when I tell my friends he's Serbian they kind of go hesitant and tell me to be careful when it comes to them. I do take my friend's opinions into consideration but I'm just curious as to why they have a bad reputation. Apparently they are really smooth and charming and often have a lot of girls.

Have any of you guys heard this about Serbian men?

Also, I know I shouldn't stereotype all Serbian guys but I've told a few people and they all have the same reaction.

'cause they're fucking beautiful and they know it. But honestly, they are very well versed in the art of romance and seduction WHICH ISN'T TO SAY that they necessarily even give a shit about you... Unlike American guys though, they will have no qualms about saying whatever needs to be said to get what they want.. They're not afraid to touch or flirt and on top of usually being good looking, super into their image and cleanliness and on average taller than other nationalities, they pose a pretty desirable package. Serbian girls are bitchier and don't fall for their shit as easily as American girls do, so it's almost like a free-for-all when they get over here. Don't get me wrong though, Serbian guys are amazing. It's just that they have very high standards when it comes to actually falling in love with a girl and not just using her for sex. Aaaand that's probably why your friends are concerned.

I don't know the answer, all I know about serbia is that movie 'A Serbian Film', where the guys rape babies, rape women to death, and rape everything with a hole. This probably isn't the reason serbian men are judged, at least I hope not

I have, I've seen almost all of michael moore's films and I like them, they show a truth that we often need to hear. Why exactly are you bringing that up? pretty sure there's no baby rape in any of his documentaries.

of course I have what? Your use of English is a bit confusing and I don't understand the point your trying to make. Maybe you should refer your comments to the question asker, all I did was make reference to a serbian film that depicts the men in an unflattering light. I am not saying its an accurate depiction of them but at times pop culture does inform our opinions of people. That's all I was trying to convey.

From 1991-1995 was a civil war in Yugoslavia. Americans have sided with Croats and Muslims. They were against the Serbs. Then started propaganda against the Serbs. Are presented as rapists killers, torturers, and many more. Then they bombed us and abducted our sacred place Kosovo and Metohija. In Kosovo there are over 1,500 Serbian monasteries from XII, XIII and XIV century. Kosovo is temporarily occupied, but will again be Serbian. We waited 500 years to free Kosovo from the Turks. We will wait and now as necessary.

I am in no way chauvinist, or a hater of any kind, but it is true that the illegal formation of Republika Srpska actually led to 80% of the war. Serbs (not all, only one group of them) took over a part of Bosnia's land and somehow expected from Bosnians to be chill about it. No way. Bosnians fought back with Croatians and Americans and that is how the whole story actually started. Serbia is the guilty one for the beginning of the war, and you can not argue that. Ask any historian who is not Serbian. Yes, Bosnians and Croatians did kill, and murder, but they did it out of revenge and with wish to actually retrieve THEIR OWN LAND that was stolen by Serbia. I'm not American, so I have no pre-favouritism for Croats or Muslims or anything. I'm an atheist, and I don't care what religion anyone is. But I've been to Croatia. I was there in December 95, during the war. The Serbs were butchers, the like of which Europe hadn't seen in 50 years.

Hi Anonymous. Your friends watch too much television. Meet the Serbs and make your own mind up. Search some of these people up and events to get aqauinted with the nation and its contribution to society. Nikola Tesla lit up America, Mileva Maric (Einstein's wife) contributed to enstein's work. Serbia was one of the first countries to abolish slavery in the early 19th century where any man or woman stepped on Serbian soil was immediately free. Search for the book... forgotten 500. You tube has some good doumentaries... stolen kosovo (czech documentary), weight of chains by boris malagurski, srebrenica, a town betrayed (norwegian bosnian documentary), ratlines (BBC documentary), ... message me by all means if you want some more info XxX
