Why do guys beat around the bush?

when you tell a girl that you clearly want her to come over, why say "oh if your bored and want to come out, I'm home". just say you want us to be there with you. are they scared of rejection?

I have a feeling you're looking to be more "wanted" from whoever it is and maybe the guy is taking his time with it. A lot of girls are in fact put off by a guy who is too aggressive.

We have some very aggressive guys out there and this causes a lot of girls to become almost paranoid everywhere they go. I constantly see girls emitting paranoid vibes at times that are completely unnecessary and I am referring to people who can simply be walking down a hallway that I have nothing to do with. So many guys will take a more laid back approach and leave it up to the woman to decide to come over or not. Besides, if things are still very early many guys know if they put too much value into a girl too soon she will just run away.

Sounds like he is not being manly enough for you like "hey cutey come hang out at my place. I promise you a fun time" The reason however is guys are almost required by society to approach girls and therefor getting shot down every 99 out of 100 tries just plains sucks. If you however told him to come over in a forceful kinda hot way it would make him feel cocky and therefor more of a man. Guys have to play the deck whereas girls can just say yes or no and walk away with confidence because a guy was interested in her.

I have done the same thing to a guy until he aid something about..and I would still end up saying "Well..when you're done you can come by." Immediately followed by "Oops! I mean..I'd love for you to stop by when you're done there." :) I agree you just don't want to sound needy or desperate for their attention, or intrusive.

well I ask him well lets get together this weekend if you are not busy. but when he does it he just ask question after question to see what I'm doing where am I at. so I guess he will make him seem needy.

"Wanna make out?" is a question I would love to ask, even if I'm told "no". That's not the part that worries me about such straightforward questions.

The response I'm worried about is "What?! what kind of woman do you think I am? I thought you were such a nice guy, but you've clearly proven me wrong. I can't tell you how uncomfortable this makes me."

See, often times "no" just isn't considered enough. There has to be some insult or offense taken to being sexually attracted and expressing it simply. So I would rather beat around the bush until YOU bring it up, because even if I don't want to, I won't be offended.

I think most everyone is afraid of rejection. If someone says they aren't afraid of rejection theyre just flat out lying :P

When guys do this its because they don't want I come off as if they are excited for you to come over or that they care a lot about you because then if hey so happen to get rejected they can just play it off as whatever and continue on with pretending like it wasn't a big deal to them.

Most everyone* there are a few people like yourself but is say in most cases people are affected by it however small it may be. I think it gets easier with every time it happens... I wouldn't know but I assume.
