Is there a difference between a normal smile and a flirty one?

I noticed my crush smiles a lot while we are talking. We both smile a lot. He will smile while he is saying something to me, and it doesn't have to be anything funny either: he could just be making a comment on something.

A lot of the time if I say something he will laugh a little, smile, and look away and smile some more lol.

I ran into him once and he asked what was up and I just replied normally and he had this huge grin on his face lol.

When I want to make a smile flirtatious I hold eye contact longer than I should and I smile at him.

Is there a way to tell if a guy smiling at a girl is flirty or just friendly?

It's about the eyes and the touch.

Look away nervously a few times, or down, like you're unsure, before you bring back your eyes for flirty eye contact. This is appealing for guys for some reason. It's just cute.

And when he makes you laugh touch his arm or upper chest. The gentle touch, or the fun friendly push away, will go a LONG way at inviting him in.

There's just something magical about woman's laugh and touch that draws us in.

Makes sense. I kind of get a vibe that he's being playful? Something about what he does makes his smiling different than when my other guy friends do it. Not sure what makes me think that though. Or maybe it's all in my head. Is there a distinct way if a guy is trying to be playful by his smile?

I don't think there are any hard and fast rules. If you want to know if he's flirting, smile at him and ask are you flirting with me. He'll say yes or no.
