It's been a black guy, now it's going to be a women, then it's going to be a tranny next. It would be fine if it was out of merit, but it seems politically correct in all the wrong ways to me.
Our governor John Kasich would be a good candidate for the Republicans. If he wins our state, he'd win the election. Ohio won Obamas election. We're a swing state
I personally liked Scott Walker, but they all had their strong points, and weaknesses! Hopefully, we will get elected a useful president who will live up to their stating! I wish them all luck! :)
@OpenClose As long as Trump or Hilary aren't president than the world should be fine. Trump is an obvious asshole but Hilary is a hidden one. I hope you guys see that.
Every single Democrat I know of is definitely in favor of Bernie. No idea why polls show otherwise. Democrats can't stop talking about Bernie, and generally feel meh about Hillary. Yet people aren't taking him seriously.
@OpenClose I guess it's cuz he's old, that and he's a socialist. In America, Socialism = Bad even though most people have no idea what it is and that it's actually really good.
Also, I think socialism is pro-capitalism in many ways when done right.
- People are much less willing start a business if their entire livelihood is at stake. Socialize basic needs, and people are free to take more risks.
- There are a lot of regulations on businesses based around people keeping jobs, having certain numbers of jobs, and revulsion against automation, because peoples' lives are determined by their job stability. WIth socialized basic needs, there is less need to regulate businesses.
- I was just discussing earlier today: Universal healthcare, socialized tuition, and things like basic income are much better than things like Obamacare, scholarships for poor and minorities, and foodstamps.
Why? People complain about having to pay taxes to help poor people, or select groups of people, which is what the American system does. When these are socialized, everyone can reap the benefits of their tax dollars at work.
@OpenClose I agree completely, I have always felt this way. However the one thing that has always bothered me about socialism is that there will always be people that will decide not to work. If a person's basic needs are met and they don't want anything else than they can simply live of welfare.
For one, you need to hone in on people's natural desire to self-actualize. People naturally WANT to be involved on projects larger of themselves and make something of themselves. This is one thing psychology points out as well. They find that workers are more self-motivated when you make enough money for it to be off the table.
Two, these basic necessities shouldn't be anything luxurious. For instance, they say everyone has a right to internet access. Instead of giving people computers, you send them to the public library. Want your OWN computer? Get a job. Want to eat WELL? Get a job. Want a good car? Not rely on public transportation? Get a job.
@OpenClose Another thing that I've been thinking of which could work well for a socialist country is a national database of places that are hiring. Have all employers put all the information on a government website (hopefully it would work better than the Obamacare website).

If the option "None of the Above" was given on election polls. I bet you that option would get the majority vote every single time.
So what will make Hillary a good president besides the fact that she'd be the first woman president?
Exactly.
Don't say that too loud. You'll wind up in a shallow grave.
I think Hilary will win and not because she's the best candidate. She will win because people want to have the first female president.
I hope Bernie Sanders wins. Donald will destroy this country.
Hillary would too. I'm conservative and I'm leaning towards Sanders. I'm sick of corrupt politicians.
These are your options? Wow. Sucks to be American...
About 19 people are running for president, but I was lazy
You didn't show Dr. Ben Carson or his family. I wonder if you'd say "he has a really black looking family"? Wtf?
Hillary is horrible! Also, you're not giving Bernie the credit he deserves.
I realized that.
I'm crying because FREE COLLEGE TUITION

He would win if Americans are OK with banning abortion.

Luckily we have here a better political system.
Based on what i know any of them will be a good choice
I personally liked Scott Walker, but they all had their strong points, and weaknesses! Hopefully, we will get elected a useful president who will live up to their stating! I wish them all luck! :)
whats up with all those token presidential candidates
you left out hillary will sell out to anyone who gives her money and thats she's a criminal
Truth.
You forgot Rand Paul.
The Republicans have Rand Paul and the Democrats have Bernie Sanders.
Hard choice.
Bernie is my first choice.
If he doesn't win the democratic vote, then I may have to go with Paul.
@OpenClose If I was an American I would do the same. The reason I care is because everything you guys do affects me your neighbour to the north ;)
No kidding. Same with the EU.
I'm sorry so many other countries seem so affected by OUR decisions.

Yeah, see that's the tricky part.

Yes. The gov could use, and be a platform for, much more consolidation.
