7 Things to Do When You are Bored

This is for when you have nothing on, you are sick, stuck in the house for some reason, etc. Here I will share with you 7 things I do that always keep me entertained. I am qualified because I have been stuck at home for minor health problems, isolation (I live close to nowhere, literally.), had to look after sick members of my family, etc. Let's start.

1. Throw a Party for Yourself.

7 Things to Do When You are Bored That Really Keep You Entertained

Got a film you have not seen for a while or never? Have a TV or Computer? Have fun music? Got food? You can throw a partyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy!

Make special food you would not dare making normally, this can be one of the best bits. Pastries, pies, deviled eggs, canapes, are excellent choices. Rearrange your living/bedroom for the event. Bring out Just Dance or a zumba video. Whatever. 2. Genealogy

This may sound like an old person's thing, but it is fascinating. I know a lot of people (including myself) that spend hours doing this. Don't knock it til you try it! You find out where your family is from, who you are associated with, very often cousins you have never met, and other things.I found that I was related to royalty and that even though I am British, I am eligible for this USA licence they give to the Inuit and Eskimo people for cheap education, health care, and I could shoot and fish for things most people in America are forbidden to. Just my presence on a fishing boat would allow them to get extra fish. Cool. See what you find, there are pictures, census returns, newspaper clippings that will contain really cool info. If you are wondering where to start and don't want to pay for ancestry.com (which is excellent, by the way) you could use familysearch.org which is totally free. Mainly because they run a service that provides all the other ones with their information. I suggest you save the information you find on a website called familyecho.com. Ask for any more info.

3. Make a Vlog/Movie/etc.

7 Things to Do When You are Bored

Ever seen this family? I bet many of you have, they became famous through vlogging! I was going to give YouTube channeling and vlogging its own MyTake, but I guess I won't. They have a calendar, bestselling books, money, and lots of fans worldwide. You don't have to be a big family that takes videos of their everyday life, going shopping, birthday parties, holidays, etc to be successful. You could just be someone with a crazy sense of humour, someone who likes to do really weird things and get attention, someone who knows a lot about make-up or hair, etc. The most successful vlogger on YouTube is this Swede that just screams at video games! Fair enough, the girls find him attractive... There are other ones like Wassabi Productions, Guava Juice, Blimey Cow, and Divine Comedy. You could do it by yourself or with a friend, make funny parodies of your favourite songs, eat weird food, fight. Just don't be like that girl that has killed all these girls, throws away Chanel bags ($2,000!). I am not even going there. But you could be sat on a goldmine and not even know it. Here are a few ideas to help you start:

1) Animate a short movie with Microsoft paint

2) Do the "What's in the box challenge" with a friend (google it, its good)

3) Use a product or food for something unusual or do a test on it

4) Interview people and ask awkward questions.

5) Watch other people's vlogs/videos for more ideas (the ones I named are good)

3. Camp Out in Your Garden

Even if it is Winter. Obviously, we are not all blessed with anywhere to camp outside, (unless you are Swedish). This can be a lot of fun, even if camping is not your thing. Invite your friends for more fun, roast marshmallows, tell stories, take your bedding outside to the tent (cheeky, haha), get out your daggers and knives and carve things.

This next one is so weird but here goes.

4. Celebrate Christmas

Yes, I have done this. I know it is so incredibly weird and socially unacceptable but it is actually kind of fun to see your tree up when people are outside in shorts and shades. Of course, don't start putting lights on your house or you will have a knock on the door later that day from an asylum worker whom the neighbours called.

Put your tree up, banners, ornaments, play your favourite Christmas music, watch How the Grinch Stole Christmas. I think the full dinner is a bit OTT, but whatever you want. Make a gingerbread house from scratch, write your cards early, and yes, try your Santa's elf costume on for size and feel proud at how much weight you have lost since you squeezed into it at Christmas.

5. Learn a New Skill/Workout

7 Things to Do When You are Bored

This time you are sat bored is the time skilled people spend learning and practicing! Said at New Years you did not have enough time to get fit ever so you were not going to try? *cough-liar!*

Learn to speak Xhosa, the Electric Guitar, lose that flab on your legs, learn how to make a souffle, become the world's best computer nerd hacking Grandma. The choice is yours.

Remember: We are the product of what we spend our time doing.

6. Read.

7 Things to Do When You are Bored

Enough said. There are a lot of fun books to read. You say that you know all about Harry Potter?

Did you read the books or just watch the movies? If you answer the latter, I feel very sorry for you. The books are way better than the movies, they have cut out SO MUCH fun stuff from the books. Did you know that Rita Skeeter spied on people's conversations in a way that I won't spoil for you, but she was able to write more nasty articles than ever by using this technique. Know what Hermione's S.P.E.W. club is? Exactly. Read Sherlock Holmes, Jane Austen, anything. There is something out there for everyone if they will just look for it.

7. Say, "Stuff Everything!" and Sit on Social Media. (G@G?)

7 Things to Do When You are Bored

Aren't you entertained right now? Veg out in bed or on your sofa and gripe about your life on Facebook, get Xper points on G@G for convincing adolescent girls that they are not fat and should stay virgins, and encourage old men to go get younger girls... I never did the latter by the way. Tweet about what a great time you are having right now, have you stopped using ask.fm? If you have a crush on there, it can be fun. Write a blog, watch funny videos. The internet is full of fun. Maybe join a dating site.

So those are my ideas, notice I did not mention clean your house? I know I don't have to, your house is perfect already. You have no dishes to be done, your cupboards are organised, of course you hoovered your living room floor before you got on here. Alles ist in Ordnung. :) :) :)

So, think about this and do some of them. Bye!
