8 Movies That Audiences Gave A Higher Percentage Than Critics

The Goonies (1985)

I love The Goonies it's such an awesome movie! It has funny and cool characters beautiful scenery. Has one of my favorite lines. "Do the truffle shuffle." (: It has a fresh rating on RT but still nowhere near as high percentage as audiences since Critics is 70% and audiences is 91%. But both Audiences and critics love The Goonies. (:

Monster Squad (1987)

Though it got a wide theater release it didn't make much at the box office. It only made 3.8M but it has a huge percentage 78% compared to critics who only gave it 53% it seems audiences prefer enjoy this movie than critics. Monster Squad did get a wide theatrical release which is kind of surprising how it didn't make much more at the box office.

Shrek (2001)

While both critics and audiences love Shrek, audiences seem to love Shrek a little bit more seeing that Audiences gave Shrek 90% and Critics gave it 88%. I love Shrek its a beautiful movie that I always love to watch.

Ghost (1990)

Critics and Audiences percentages are close but while critics gave it 74% while audiences have it 80%. Ghost was the biggest box office movie of the year 1990.

Weird Science (1985)

While a majority of audiences love Weird Science seeing it got a 69% critics only gave it 56% giving it a rotten rating. Weird Science was made with 7.5M and made 38M which is pretty impressive. It has got a wide theater which is another reason it made 38M at the box office.

Road House (1989)

Critics and Audiences percentages are really different with Road House. I love this movie critics gave it a 38% while audiences gave it a 67%. It's an awesome movie that every guy who likes action packed movies love Road House. While it only made 30.1M it definitely is one of the most popular action movies of the 1980s. And it got a wide theater release.

The Lion King (1994)

While critics and audiences are close in percentages critics gave it 92% while audiences gave it 93%. I love this movie its one of my favorite movies ever! It's beautifully made it was the biggest box office movie of 1994. It made 766M at the box office and surprisingly it only had a limited theatrical release instead of a wide theater release.

Clerks (1994)

Clerks's critics and audiences percentage is slightly different. Critics giving it 88% and Audiences giving it 89%. It got a wide theatrical release and only made 3.2M which is surprising how it made so little at the box office but at least it has high percentages. It was Kevin Smith's first movie he directed which is pretty impressive.

It would be interesting to see audience ratings sorted out by age categories. Movies like Weird Science probably rate very high with viewers under 18 and low with viewers over 30.

It's sucks that Monster Squad didn't get a fresh rating from Critics unlike The Goonies and Ghost.

Yeah I like Weird Science as you said and Goonies still even though they are targeted for a younger audience they are movies I grew up with when I was much younger so they are fun to watch at times

weird science was an awesome movie its also where i developed a crush on the ever so beautiful Kelly la brock. she was and is a babe i think.

thats cool i got the amityvill horror on dvd but thats about it for the old movies lol i got a lot new movies though but there not as good. but there fun to watch some times.
