What is wabi-sabi?

Just like Feng-shui, wabi-sabi is a philosophy of life. But it doesn't have strict rules, unlike feng-shui.

In traditional Japanese aesthetics, wabi-sabi (侘寂) is a world view centered on the acceptance of transience and imperfection. The aesthetic is sometimes described as one of beauty that is "imperfect, impermanent, and incomplete"

Neutral colours

The colours that are used in Nabi-Sabi are the colours of nature. The ideal colours are red ocher, shades of brown, white, beige and dark green. You can use any colour that you see in nature

Walls

In Wabi-Sabi decorations, natural stones, worn woods, unpainted plywoods, and unplated blister bricks are preferred on the wall surfaces. The main material shouldn't be hidden to make it look perfect.

Furniture

Wabi-Sabi is against the materialism and luxury. You should choose simple and comfortable furniture. It is important to use as less furniture as possible.

Flooring

Just like the walls, the floors should be natural looking. The glossy and polished look is not preferred.
