1- I smoke:

Yes, never saw this coming, but I am a social smoker since 2008 , 10 years, I hardly buy packs, just take from others (mostly my brother).

Don't smoke, really !

I Hate it and would love to stop it , but the morning cigarette is too tempting.

2- Headbanger :

Yes, I used to be the guy who wears only black and have a goatee , that was through collage and school , I still enjoy that awesome music but I don't listen to it as much as before (sadly)

3- I am not Asexual :

I know, you never seen me answering or doing anything in the sexual behavior section as all the guys do, I am not open to talk about my sexuality as most people, and I like to keep it private, only my wife would be the one who takes me lol If I ever have one , but indeed I am just like any other human(Yeah I have Fantasies and stuff too ).

I will keep them in my mind

4- I seem simple , but I am complicated :

You see, I am easy going, and I easily could relate and understand people (most of the time) ,but the one that I understand the most is myself, and I have so many things that appeared to me in life, that I have easily worked out by my own , that is why I hardly change over the years(and I hardly find people that understands me).

I know a lot of Muslims who smoke and meanwhile I don't know a single Christian who smokes. I'm not blaming Muslims in any way - I think most of them have very good personalities but I think the reason Christians don't smoke is because Christians are encouraged to be honest about their flaws and short comings and they are told God still loves them if they mess up. They aren't afraid to accept and acknowledge their flaws and they aren't afraid to show signs of weakness because Jesus - the founder of Christianity - was weak and vulnerable many times in their life. Because Christians are permitted social expressions not usually endorsed in Islamic culture - Christians are less likely to smoke to relieve stress.

Now I say Muslims smoke because Muslims are constantly judged for their behaviour by those around them and Muslims are worried they will be condemned or excluded or humiliated if they show their flaws to other people. Having so much guilt and fear and shame and anxiety and worry and then not being allowed or encouraged or embraced when they want to share those fears and pains with others - this causes them to resort to cigarettes for comfort and relief.

I think the reason you feel so much compassion for those who make big errors in their lives is because you have many things you feel you need forgiveness for and don't consider yourself better than others the way some others do - people who may have never had to feel like they were the outsider in their own circles or lives.

I think what you should do is see a therapist or counsellor or find a trusted friend whether Muslim or non-Muslim that you can talk to about your anxiety and worries so that you can stop smoking.

In Christianity God is known as the father of those who believe. In islam there are over a hundred descriptions for God but God is never described as a father - you need to know God loves you and his love doesn't fade when you make a mistake.

But why did you think we smoke because of our religion?
I have many atheist, and Christian friends who smokes, didn't it cross your mind that it is our financial and living terms that pushed many people to smoke?
And it seems like smoking for us just for fun, isn't that the main reason to smoke anyway?

Lots of people smoke in my country, they generally start at 12 / 13, they do it to be cool but after they can never stop. It's not cool

Who knows maybe - In previous accounts I have written deeply personal takes and they took a lot out of me - I became too well known on GaG and actually had a lot of people asking me advice - I would get 10/15 people a week PM me for one on one advice, it is a heavy responsibility - Therefore I am a bit wary of getting too invovled in GaG again.

That's nice. It's not a big deal to smoke once in awhile. Even I do it occasionally.

I don't think that a little smoking is a health threat, but of course it's only dry smoke without real benefits. If you feel like quitting and it feels hard to do it, you can buy some nicotine gum. 😃
