Hello everybody ❤❤

Before I start, I wrote this as an answer to a question awhile ago but decided to add a little to it and make it better and post it in hope to be able to help someone who's trying to deal with depression.

I myself have been depressed for a long time but now I'm doing much better, and some of these things definitely helped me.

1. Seeking professional help

People with depression usually don't have that person to talk with that that would really listen to them and would know what help they need, so I suggest these people would go to a shrink that'll be able to give them a proper treatment.

2. Don't focus on your sadness 24/7

Have your mind distracted from your sadness by going out on fun activities, alone or with friends (better with friends), keep yourself always occupied. Have fun basically. Don't lay in bed alone and let yourself drown in dark thoughts.

3. Talk to someone

It doesn't have to be a professional, but you could find someone to talk with, that'll be abe to listen to you. Get out of your mind everything you feel. It can be a close friend or a stranger on the interent, doesn't really matter. Just vent everything out.

4. Workout!

Play sports, hit the gym or workout at home. Workout to the point where your body's feeling exhausted, sweating and painful. That's an awesome distraction. It's hard to get motivated when you're depressed though, so it's better if you have someone to do it with.

5. Take walks!

Taking few moments to enjoy the beautiful day and the fresh air is very relaxing. I like going on walks in the woods. It's very peaceful and really makes me feel better seeing the beautiful view.

6. Do the things you like!

Usually when you're depressed you can lose the thrill and excitement that you have for doing things you like, BUT you can still try to not lose it. Just keep doing these things you like, keep having that routine of practicing your hobbies.

7. Meet new people

Go out for new places and explore them, be friendly with people and interact with them. For me, it really gets me excited when I meet new people and slightly happier. I love it!

8. Hang out with people!

Invite them to your place, go to their place, go out all together. Do whatever. Being in other people's company can be really enjoyable if they're your close friends.

9. Try and dealing with your fears

That's a great boost to your mood! It's very very exciting. I used to have a big fear of snacks and when I finally managed to deal with it, I was like the happiest person in the world! I felt so thrilled and pleased with myself that I mananged to do so... it was a great experience.

10. Do something you've never done before but very curious to do

like sky diving! That's another way to get yourself all energised and excited.

11. Amusement parks 😌

I don't even have to say much about this one lol. It can be extremely fun there! Get that child-like side out of you 🙈

12. Adopt a pet!!

My dog makes me the happiest. Just seeing him happy and excited when he sees me makes me so happy.

13. Get yourself a new fun hobby.

Like cooking or reading! Get yourself into that hobby, that's another way to get excited 🎊

14. Have an organized routine

I don't know about you people, but for me, having a more organised routine really helps me stay on track and not get myself all drowning in depressing thoughts or end up doing things that harm myself (unintentionally), like not eating at all. So I need the routine to help me be more "stable".

15. Volunteer!

Personally, helping people makes me feel happy and good about myself. So I volunteer once a week at least and I love it. It's also a great place to meet new awesome people!

And that's it!

I wish I had more advices but I really hope that at least some of this helped. Good luck for everyone who's going through depression and I hope you'll find a way to deal with it eventually ❤
