you know it's those situations you just described, where i'm wondering, where all those brave keyboard warriors, that always go on and on about the second ammendment are with their guns, safing the day xD
OK, so what single armed civilian would have done against 3 armed robers? Start shooting and there will be even more inocent lives lost. One on one maybe if thy don't see you pulling out gun and you don't fuck up first shot. I think its common sense, you dont start shootout one against 3.
@__inkRat i swear you just gotta say anything anywhere and one of those new fanboys comes out of the bushworks and starts arguing with me as if I had any interest in arguing with their weapon nonsense xD
@__inkRat before something happens, you gun people always act the hero. but after something happened and nobody tried to be a hero, you find all the excuses xD
First of all I'm not American, so don't put that bullshit on me. And did you even read what I wrote? I said maybe one one could stop rober, I never said one would by all means stop them. use some common sense, no one in there right mind would draw out firearm when he is one against many, hell I would not pull one out for simple robery to.
I've been threatened with a knife, but that went as well as it could, I got a small scratch. Another time I was threatened with a toy gun. I started laughing, grabbed the guy and gave him to the police.
Gosh that sounds terrible. Its so sad about the gun troubles in the USA. When will people learn? You are never going to shoot down government - all the guns do is fuel crime.
"You are never going to shoot down government - all the guns do is fuel crime."
Bullshit. Firearms protect citizens from government overreach. Fuel crime? Robbers also use knives and clubs. All knives do is fuel crime. Let's outlaw knives. How are you going to cut the meat on your plate? How are cooks/chefs supposed to prepare food? We need to come up with an alternative because knives are so dangerous. All clubs do is fuel crime. No more chairs because the chair legs can be used as clubs and we can't have that now.
@joeblow123 Wow, that's a passionate response. I don't see that guns protect you from government overreach. Logically, if that was the case, every citizen on earth would be armed - and they are not. Alone, you are not going to defend yourself from government. With a team, you are equally doomed. I think the events at the capitol recently would have gone another way if this was wrong.
Government rule will always be there. You can try to bring down and destroy the government but another will form. So, the only option you are left with to protect yourself from government overreach is to engage in politics. Which brings us back to guns do little to protect you from government overreach while at the same time increasing your risk from crime.
You are of course correct that a criminal can choose to arm themselves with a chair leg. But guns are a bigger concern due to their lethal force. Removing guns will not reduce crime, but it would reduce lives lost. Those lives are unlikely to be lost to other weapons. Killing someone up close with a knife is a very different person to at arms length or more with a gun.
@joeblow123 It isn't that. I don't mind loosing an argument TBH because you can learn from it. I was on my phone and its awkward to switch in long responses and the blog as the chat collapses.
The UK Government does not have much to say on guns. The public are against it. Our police can carry guns but very few choose to do so. Its not a spewing out propaganda thing you mentioned in your post. There just isn't a desire to do this that is being suppressed by government. There just is not a desire for it.
Next up, if every country was tyrannical as you say, would that not build a desire to carry guns? Yet somehow it hasn't. There are two reasons. Firstly most gov's are not tyrannical and second, most people don't want it. The more likely reason for why one specific country is keen on guns is that they have been led to propaganda prompting it.
I don't understand your point about Under a gun control system. I think the sentences are incomplete.
How many hours of most days are you apart from your gun? Owning a gun does not protect you from crime, unless you walk around with it 24/7/365. Which I'm guessing you don't. So yes, you can be a crime victim while still owning a gun.
Your life is not worth what little is in that register. If you have CTTV then let the cameras do the work. The store is covered against theft or they couldn't be open.

Definitely not...and it wasn't even my money so if I had been forced to the register instead of my boss, I would have had no issues giving that away. Unfortunately the company I believe would rather us have died then to spend money installing cameras because we'd asked for them for 6 solid months, on every monthly report and we were always told they were "looking into it." Had someone been seriously injured or god forbid killed, this would absolutely be a legal cause for negligence on the part of the company for failing to provide reasonable safety measures to protect company property and staff.
Well I never was held up at gunpoint,... but I was once held up & robbed at knife-point. Especially for the 1st time going through that,... the spontaneous & life-threatening action & unexpected encounter is frightening. I'm not going to deny that.
If im on my own I'd not care so much but if I was with people I cared for I would be scared then. Hope it hasn't added any lasting effects it's horrible hope your okay
This why people need guns ya kno a hard place to rob A GUN STORE! What’s that? Why? Hmmm? Maybe because THEY HAVE GUNS!!

I didn't read any of it just skimmed but the way I am now if someone holds me up at gunpoint they better not get within range of my arms or im going gouge their eyes out and possibly kill them with that gun
No. In this case this was the best outcome. If they outnumber you is best to comply. Be clear and loud enough to show that you’re able and willing to comply. I will open the safe. I’m opening the safe.
If you’re confident in your shooting which you should be or not have a gun. Then use tricks. Cops are in their way. They be here in minutes. For a few rounds behind cover. Don’t peek too often. Don’t try and kill just make it dangerous for them to approach. This is safest option but if you comply you usually won’t be shot. I’m a public setting anyway especially with customers.
Pulling a guns not always the best choice. We can’t all be John McClain or John wick. It’s better to be in control but sometimes it’s not possible. For that point I agree if everyone carries you’d have less instances of this kinda shot. Average people you’d make citizens arrests or people would be more afraid to do lower crimes. Too much risk not enough rewards requiring more investment.
This is why when nobody has weapons, armed robberies don't happen.
In my country of origin, hungary, the worst that can happen is that somebody pulls a knife on you, and then pepper spray or tazer it is. Nobody gets killed.
The lowlives have no access to weapons, and if they do, it will land them in prison invariably for 20+ years. No running away either. Small country, nowhere to hide.
Arguably when god people have guns bad people come out on top spot less. Also bad people get guns one way or another. We can’t seem to close down the border to stop drugs and guns so trust me it wouldn’t work here. Besides. Ordinary people with guns are a check against government. And we hunt here. I won’t give any of that up for the promise of safety because I know it’s an empty and vague promise.
Also, in reality, guns would not be needed here as a check against the government. If Vitya finally loses it, and would have police fire live rounds against protesters, the military would fuck him right in the ass.
Guns require checks here too. As a matter of fact it takes days in the best case to get a first gun. You can’t just walk in and out. Also it’s easier to get an illegal weapon than a legal one.
Here, it takes about 3 years to study and earn a hunting license. Private guns take a year, and only granted if you can prove beyond doubt that your life is in danger. If so, you will get police protection until you get your gun.
You will get two checks a year for gun safety regulations, you have to keep track of the ammo you purchased/shot or lost. You cannot wield a gun in public except for that of personal protection, and only concealed.
Armed personnel, on the other hand, can never conceal any guns, except for a select few police investigators.
Our governments turning on us as we speak. Monster what you hear this is face. Their silencing views they don’t like and arresting/silencing people with different opinions. They cheated the election through last minute changes in our vote that weren’t legally made. They have mobilized our military in record numbers to hold Capitol. They are erasing our history and pushing policies that splits the people. Propaganda against our own people.
You have to jump many hoops. But nutcases can't get guns. Also, it is nearly impossible to get black market guns here. There is no black market for them.
I know what is going on there, I work for the Navy. And yes, I know they have cheated. Viktor has cheated too, but as of yet, he did not piss off enough people for a protest. If he did, then the police and military is not his friend. Maybe some high officers, but not the main meat. He couldn't mobilize the military either. Hungarian constitution forbids it. Any soldier who would obey such an order would become a criminal. And they don't have enough power to change this. Thee, things are very different. And for the better.
The side of our country wanting to end guns want to maintain open borders. Means we can’t cancel guns and Sharon I don’t want them to. 80% of Americans have a gun. You can’t end guns without taking the guns they already have away and that will END this push for gun control on the spot. There will be open revolt. Even the left known to want gun control have bought guns in record numbers after the riots that just happened. People were allowed to destroy cities and kill people and we were refused justice. Police and military were not mobilized when this happened for months. And when the government didn’t protect us we had to protect ourselves.
Here however the president can mobilize our troops. Also we’re supposed to have a3 branch system that keeps one from having too much power but the president been changing all he wants with executive orders bypassing the other branches.
Well, here is the same as in power creep. But people and the military will not stand for that, if Vitya slips up. So far, hungarians have nothing better than him. No alternative. He is popular due to his closed border ideal.
Again, I work for the US Navy, I have intimate knowledge about US law, customs, your culture.
Yet I think that gun control (as in you can't walk around armed without a reason) would help you guys in the long run. And maybe a bigger crackdown on illegal arms. But that is nearly impossible.
In Hungary, the gypsy vermin can't get hold on rifles. If they did, that would be another case.
Then again, in hungary if police asks you to open your bags, you actually have to comply. They can stop and search you all they want. Then again, they are not batshit crazy, since it is assumed that you don't have a gun. If you do, you have to declare it the moment you are stopped, and provide the appropriate papers.
Police only shoots if tgey have no other option, because every weapon discharge is then checked in court.
Japan had a complete ban on firearms on a civilian level. Only some police and their “military” are allowed and even with tight border control the “mafia” still possess firearms. If an island can’t control it then we will not be able to. Our way works and while it’s limited in ways by our rights to try and change them the way democrats are would be blood and gore. Changes like this happen slowly. Even still I argue your way might not be the best even if it does work. We have other laws and rights that conflict with your way of living that would make enacting your restrictions impossible.
It’s people like you that can’t remain calm and respectful that shouldn’t have firearms... fucking idiot at least this guy comes with facts your just spewing your bile everywhere.
@Kiss_Me it isn’t hatred you anti gun moron. It’s reality. If criminals are armed which they are you’d better be armed too to level the playing field. When their attention is drawn or leaving you kill them. That simple
It wouldn't really make any difference if you actually got shot without even any warning. And people who are seen with guns are more likely to just get shot with no warning. So yes i've been shot one time and i wasn't even caring anything with me. What difference would it make if i actually had a gun with me and i didn't see it coming? Only for it to get stolen and be at a hand of the wrong person?
@s2firestar its not hard to make diy firearm, plans are all over net if you want to make one. Look at STEN and how simple it is, anyone with metal lathe can produce them. In a sense its way harder to made amunition from nothing than firearm. Gun control works only to point, and those who will want them will always find a way to get one. Black powder revolvers and rifles made before 1855? are not even considered firearms in EU and black powder isn't hard to make. Nor you need complex tools to make such firearms. But then again if everyone is armed, trying to rob someone with gun is quite suicidal tought. Both ideas have there good and bad sides. I would say its better for small nation to have armed people as any potentional enemy would have really hard time to invade. Point is, if someone has taken firearm in there hands to commit crime, than I really doubt any fine/prison wills top them.
Then i am not stupid. Nobody is saying you don't have the rights to be armed but however that is irrelevant. Someone points a gun up your you are supposed to put your hands up otherwise you're going to get shot. Chances are you're still going to get shot anyways if you try to reach for your own gun so do you think that's a smart move in situations like this?
But that still doesn't change the fact of how likely he is going to shoot you because he is going to see you're gun. What if he say he wants your gun? Easier said than done
How about he is not blind and he is not stupid to see what's inside your pocket? Perhaps you're a dipshit not thinking about that. I don't think you're a gun can even fit inside your pocket
They're gonna get a glimpse of it if you still try to reach your pocket. They want everything from you. And if still if you're not a dipshit, you should consider that. But what still stands actually is you getting shot without any warning. You carrying a gun doesn't make a difference
@Aiko_E_Lara keep believing that. In my state that has constitutional carry armed crime is down since more carry. Turns out criminals are cowards and are far less likely to hold up someone they think is armed and no they wouldn’t see it. What you’re talking about is a random shooting. Those are very very rare so keep living afraid
You know what else is rare? Robbing banks, school shootings, bombing buildings, mass shooting in countries that doesn't normalize guns. If those criminals are "coward" then chances are they'd shoot without confronting them. So yeah using your gun is also a really rare case.
@Aiko_E_Lara not necessarily there’s been several instances of guns saving lives since we’ve had constitutional carry. If you hate guns then don’t buy one but you have no right to try and ban something for everyone just because you don’t like it. Who the fuck do you think you are.
LOL... ok, somewhere along the way I have managed to get very confused. I am licensed to carry a concealed firearm and do so everywhere I'm permitted by law. I am also VERY Pro 2nd Amendment. I deeply believe I have made a conscious choice to NOT be a professional victim waiting for my number to be called. I also agree that many people that are arguing against using a gun in this situation are disregarding the use of tactics. You wait, observe, and take action when the gunman is distracted. Attempting to pull a gun when they are "covering" you is suicidal.
@Kiss_Me exactly. These anti gun pussies know nothing of guns nor the wide array of ways to carry concealed. Me personally I carry openly but with large baggy shirts to cover it. You can’t tell

Damn I’m sorry this happened to you. I suggest getting a gun or some other quick self defense weapon.
I've been threatened with a knife, but that went as well as it could, I got a small scratch. Another time I was threatened with a toy gun. I started laughing, grabbed the guy and gave him to the police.
Yeah almost dying is never fun I think on my like second, third go around?
It's good everything all things considered ending peacefully with the robbery.

I think the final points we are in agreement on.
@kingofthellamas
No, not every country is tyrannical but even some of the democratic ones have harsh firearms laws. The UK
@kingofthellamas
The UK and Canada do have gun control laws on the books.
@kingofthellamas
In the U. S. you can carry a concealed firearm. Yes, even in public.

That is a really frightening story. I'm glad you are still with us.
Me too. Some days I really sit there and think, my nephews might have never had an aunt. It really humbles you.
It really does. I've had several incidents in which I thought I would die. Very humbling for me as well.
Well I never was held up at gunpoint,... but I was once held up & robbed at knife-point. Especially for the 1st time going through that,... the spontaneous & life-threatening action & unexpected encounter is frightening. I'm not going to deny that.

Don't you wish you had to power to take criminals off the face of the planet and let them die in the vacuum of space.
@ManHater
I'd like to do that to feminists and their enablers.
Wow! What a scary experience... sorry you went through all of that.
That’s quite a story, I hope I never go through that, sorry you had to go through that but you handled it well
Where on earth do you live? How can a place with so many expensive items, have a shitty security system? Man I have no idea what I would have done.
That sucks, I've been a bank guard during a hostage situation, I can relate.

Anonymous,
Have you ever had a gun put to your head? I'm talking about real life and a real gun. Not video games or toy cap guns but the genuine article?
just give them the money, its not worth getting shot over

Ignore this bitch he’s just a stupid duck
@VanillaSalt that’s right and I will be one that is armed. You can’t rely on others for your protection

@Aiko_E_Lara I’m not paranoid. It’s my right to be armed and I choose to be because in this country I have the freedom to choose

@__inkRat they consider prison is worth the risk and I can tell you from personal experience the older you get the less life in prison matters
@Aiko_E_Lara wait till he leaves
But that still doesn't change the fact of how likely he is going to shoot you because he is going to see you're gun. What if he say he wants your gun? Easier said than done
@Aiko_E_Lara he’s not going to see it because it’s concealed dipshit
How about he is not blind and he is not stupid to see what's inside your pocket? Perhaps you're a dipshit not thinking about that. I don't think you're a gun can even fit inside your pocket
@Aiko_E_Lara nope it isn’t in a pocket dipshit. It’s in a belt pouch and hidden by an untucked shirt
Similar to a Fanny pack. You really don’t know anything about guns do you
They're gonna get a glimpse of it if you still try to reach your pocket.
Well written. Very scarey glad you are ok.
Thank you.
