A "Decorative Pillow" is Not a Pillow

Guys, I am allowing you to win this argument. There, I said it! A decorative pillow or cushion, used on beds or couches is not a pillow. It's just decor and serves no actual function other than to look pretty on said bed or couch.

Why do I know this to be true, because no one is allowed to actually use them as pillows. The first thing that happens when you do try to, is you get told that those are for decor, or you'll get all your hair gel or sweat on them and ruin them.

The video doesn't lie, when you actually go to sit down, whether it's the bed or couch, you have to move the "cushions" aside or else you won't actually comfortably fit on them because they aren't shaped for any ergonomic reason nor are they made for use, they are made fat and fluffy just so they can sit on the couch/bed all day and look pretty before waiting to be removed when actual function is needed.

And why do we need 15 of them on the bed. I don't know. I really don't. And don't just toss them on the floor, like you need to neatly place them in the weaved basket in the corner until needed. Ahh, it's true. They are useless, but Target's having a sale, so we women need like 10 more of them, k, thanks!

That video was great. And he is, of course, correct. Decorative pillows or cushions or whatever you want to call them, prioritize appearance above function, comfort, convenience and safety. Thankfully my wife is not TOO over the top about them. But when we stay in a VRBO or an Air BNB, and even many hotels, half of the bed if usually covered in these things. When we use the bed we have to take them all off and they literally take up half the floor space in the room, tripping us up when we have to get up and use the bathroom during the night. Then in the morning when we make the bed, we have to put aaaaallllllll of them back just to get them out of the way so we can use the room without hurting ourselves. They are an annoyance at best, and a hazard at worst. Why?

The true definition of a pillow is, "a rectangular cloth bag stuffed with feathers, foam rubber, or other soft materials, used to support the head when lying down." So if you're not actually using it for anything but decoration, is it really a pillow?

If there are pillows on my side of the bed I'm using them. Otherwise, they're getting pushed into the ground. If you don't want my head on your pillows, don't put them where my head goes.
