Is the guy suppose to pay for snacks and movie ticket on first date?

Im thinkin about inviting this girl to the movies with me and if she says yes I was gonna tell her that ill pay for her ticket but not her snacks. What do you think?

Typically the person who does the inviting is the one to pay, from what I understand.

However. . .
My suggestion is talk to her about splitting the cost upfront, but make it worthwhile.
Tell her if she gets her ticket, you'll plan the whole thing and even pick her up. Make it sound like you're doing something for her in exchange. Win/Win.
You'll also respect her independence and acknowledge her ability to take care of herself. Also it won't feel like you're doing everything for her and that she owes you.
If she doesn't like this, she's probably just using you as a pocket book anyways.

Absolutely, other than the affection your showing your lady this goes some way to showing her that she is apreciated and beign looked after. as your not expecting her to pay for every thing/anything.

Note: you will find that there are some ladies out there that acctually dont like this and would prefer to pay their way (half of the evening) as they see us guys paying in full as a type of insult to them its us saying they can't take care of them selves.

Depends on her, I suppose. Is she pretty laid back? She might be totally okay with that, and for the most part, it seems pretty fair! However, a lot of girls want to feel special whenever they're on a date. You might run the risk of offending her or turning her off if you ask her to pay for her snacks. Picking and choosing what you're willing to pay for could make things.. awkward? I'd rather go 50/50 (as in I pay for my ticket and snacks, he pays for his own) or allow him to pay for the entire date. Whatever you do, just make it clear to her. Good luck!

You don't want to seem totally stingy on the first date. I think after a few dates you could let her pay for some things, but I think she will be turned off by that. I'm totally fine with going on a date that doesn't involve money, but with that it gets a little weird.

Yes, that would make you seem like a gentlemen and show a good impression right off the bat. If she says she feels bad making you pay just say "Don't worry, I've got it" or something. Unless she is really uncomfortable with you paying, then let her pitch in.

I would actually pay for my own ticket and my own snacks, since I always do that when I'm going to the movies. But that's just me.
Why would you tell her that you're not going to pay for her snacks, though? I mean, why don't you just tell her that you're going to pay for her ticket and leave it at that? Bluntly telling her that you're not gonna pay for snacks sounds kind of rude tbh.

If you're inviting her, then you're pretty much obligated to pay the ticket with no expected recompense or anything, and you should OFFER to buy her the snacks but if she would say "nonono I don't want to eat you out of your money so I'll get that for myself" then you know you've found a keeper, heh.

My general rule for that is the person who did the asking for the date pays for the first date unless the other person offers to pay and all dates after that you either split the cost or alternate who pays for every other date.
