So I'm a freshman in highschool. And my bro was telling me I should shave my cha cha cause he said no guy is gonna want a girl with a lot of hair down there. And I thought it was quite weird. What do you think. ? I'm 14 by the way.

I do not say it is weird or creepy. But I would say you should and might have a closer relationship and friendship with your brother that many do not have it, so they find it odd if a brother advice her sister about these matters.

In advising about anything and everything, gender does not matter. also relationships and places does not matter. Anyone can advice you on anything. whether psychological matters or physical.

The only error is the intention of the person in talking about a matter, which in many cases if it is negative it can be felt and be avoided after it. But if it is merely an advice and said as just an informing about a subject or sharing an opinion there is nothing wrong with it.

There is nothing abusive about brothers talking about sexual health, attractiveness, sharing men's views on women with their sisters.

Any man can be abusive, as any woman can be. You go out and ask your friend or a closer classmate about this matter, he can be as abusive as you think your brother is in advising you. with this mentality not your brother but you should avoid every man whom you do or may discuss these matters with him. because every single person has a chance to be abusive.

That means, do not incriminate your brother only because as a man he's placed in the role of your brother. He's a man. See him as a man. Have open eyes to see and distinguish abusive 'persons' whether it wants to be your classmate, your friend, your future mate, or your brother or father. or a lesbian female teacher of yours. anyone can be.

But do no incriminate one without solid reason.

Being close as to talk bluntly never means becoming abusive and having negative mentality. negative mentality exists in abusive persons from long before they act.

Apart from this, about this very particular subject, if he meant to advice you it is mainly not a very true advice. especially because he is assuming that you have to get ready to have sexual activities necessarily...

Um first of all, this is definitely not the place for a fourteen year old but in the interest of yourself, I will answer.

There is no need for you to shave/wax/trim/anything else down there unless you want to. Yes there are some hygiene purposes to trimming, and personally I like trimmed or waxed better, but some of my friends are au naturale.

If you do decide you want to do something about you pubic hair, do NOT shave. It hurts in that area, especially when the hair is growing back. Trim. Or, when you're old enough, wax.

Basically, don't feel as if you HAVE to do anything about your pubic hair. You don't.

I'm 19 and I shaved it. You have to be careful if you do. If you shave it, you always risk getting ingrown hair and it is painful. Also, it might itch and get pokey. If you feel sexier shaving it, then shave it. Your own body. Also, I didn't shave it for years and it is hairy. Never did it smell. Your brother is not wrong about that. He is right, most guys like when a girl is shaved. But if your guy expects you to shave then he should too, if that's what you like. Don't worry about that. Weirdly enough, my brother and I have had a similar conversation (we're basically best friends, and there are no off-limit topics with us) and he said something similar. But both of my exes preferred it trimmed, not shaved, so guys all like different things. You do what you like, and if a future boyfriend has a preference when it comes to that, worry about it then.
