I'd also like to mention 1) knowing you and your weaknesses better, she may actually agree with them, especially if she's tried to talk to you about these topics before, and therefore doesn't see why she has to defend you from the truth, and 2) if she looks down on you for the fact that you can't stand up for himself like a man and are a target for getting picked on by a crowd, thus lowering your social standing in her eyes.

Also remember that your gf's social standing and reputation improves if she's seen defending her friends, especially those of the opposite sex or gender, but she gets a very low return on defending you because its expected + she'd have to exert more effort just to prove she's not defending you simply because you're her boyfriend. You deserve an unselfish woman who will do the work to protect her man, even when it's a losing battle.
