Life is pointless, but is death any less pointless?
People fight for their lives without having anything in mind except for going on to live more. So, I suppose in this (ostensibly) one shot we have at life, it's better to screw around and do whatever until you become old and frail, and eventually expire. What you don't do in life you certainly won't be able to make up in death, so may as well just enjoy the ride until the inevitable crash.
