I mean... my husband and I both volunteered tirelessly (actually about 80 straight hours, but that's another story ahha) when Katrina hit N'awlins. And, yah, there seemed to be plenty of turds (among other things) floating all around.

I was thinking about this last night after dinner with some businessmen visiting that were quite overweight.

I don't think I've ever had a floating poo but I dated a guy in high school who talked about them. What exactly must one eat to get their poo to float?

@Hidden_P yes you are correct it is also malabsorption of nutrition and gas. I googled it shortly after posting out of curiousity.

Let's face it, it doesn't mean you're dying but it certainly in an indicator of bad health.

I pay attention to the health of my bowel and I can't remember ever having a floater. I've seen floaters left behind as a prank and they are fluffy like they have fiber or something but that isn't the case.

The asker is correct. In rural Texas is where o found out about floaters. In Austin I don't tend to see them.

Generally no it doesn't. I went through a period when it did, I was vomiting almost daily and turns out I'm lactose intolerant and was vomiting most of my nutrients.

Would you like to know colour, frequency and consistency as well? Or have we all finished being judgmental and realised it's not just fat fucks who get floaters?

@Hidden_P Thanks for sharing. Your experience is the most common with floating poop. You fixed it and for healthy.

In my younger years guys I knew welll showed me these massive floating turds.

They certainly weren't eating well at all as far a fat content but you're right that alone can't mLe a turd float.

Basically my take away is if I ever have a floater something has gone wrong in my diet or health.

That's a better way of putting it than before! :) it angers me when people assume fat = super unhealthy. That's not always the case. I've always been a bigger girl, even as a kid, and yet at my most physically fit I was far healthier than most skinny people I knew.

Most people experience it at some point in their lives. There is nothing wrong with it. Just like some people will experience green poo; nothing wrong with you. Stomach bugs can even have an effect
