Ageing is mostly down to genetics. My mum is 50 and she's still getting hit on by men more than 10 years younger than her. Her looks hasn't really changed that much.
I know some women who look old in their 20s and some women who look young in their 40s and 50s.

And even the women who do get wrinkles and look old it doesn't mean they can't look beautiful and not find a man. Plenty still do. You're still in your 20s so you might find it weird that older men find women their age attractive. But you've forgotten this, when you were 12 years old you were attracted to girls who were 12 or around that age, now in your later 20s you (i hope) don't find 12 year olds attractive anymore rather women in their 20s are attractive, its sort of the same thing when you grow older. Some older men aren't even attracted to young girls for this same reason.

You say (young) women love Johnny Depp and Brad Pitt etc, they don't anymore because they look old, I find Johnny Depp and Brad Pitt in their 20s attractive definitely, a little less in their 30s and definitely not in their 40s and 50s. Men DON'T age like fine wine (looks wise), a lot of it is down to genetics and the way they take care of themselves. You don't see anybody talking about how Elvis got more attractive as he aged, rather its the opposite.

I think becoming your worst is when you are not taking care of your body (mentally, physically, and emotionally) and when you stop treating the people in your life who treat you right like they should be treated, and when all control is lost and there's no regard for anything but physical gratification.

@DianaWest Men can become ugly and fat like women but the old addage is women age like sour milk and men age like fine whine. This is because men's sexual market value goes up as they increase their wealth, status and power and women's sexual market value goes up with their looks. Women's looks normally peak at around 22 and very few can ever push that past 30. Men's peak sexual market value is in their mid 50's because that's normally when they're earning the most and have their most power and status.

There is not one age when women "hit the wall." Some never take care of themselves, some never stop keeping themselves in shape, and some let down and different stages in their lives. Nothing is simple like "they all do this when they have their 27th birthday."

You do know women age faster than men. Women's skin has less amount of collagen, which makes them age faster and get more wrinkles than men from their same age. Men have thicker skin, too, which slows down the age process unlike women.

I know women my age who are very attractive and who have never done any cosmetic surgery. Some decline in appearance certainly may be related to genetics and, as we get older, the odds on us experiencing such a decline do increase, but some do escape the ravages of age:

While that woman looks better than the average... 50 year old? I guarantee she is not a shadow of who she was in her twenties just like all women. Plus a different lighting, and no make up would make her look considerably worse.

Men can look awesome at any age without the use of make up. George Clooney, Hugh Jackman, Jason Statham, Harrison Ford, TOm Cruise... all proof of men who can rock any age 30, 40, 50, 60... it doesn't affect men the same way that's just the truth.

@Asker Tom Cruise, Johnny Depp, John Travolta, Brad Pitt, all of them are no longer attractive now, or at least the three first ones are defnitely not, and they all looked way better than the average man when they were young. Women don't age so much faster than men do. I've seen guys in their 20's with wrinkles. They may not think so, but that permanent lines on their foreheads and from the corner of their nose to the corner of their lips are wrinkles. Men have thicker skin, so they have less wrinkles, but their wrinkles are deeper. Men don't age like wine (at least not when we're talking about looks only); both men and women look their best when they're between their late teens and early 30's.

I didn't say they don't age faster, I said it's not a big difference, at least not for most people. I see my parents, my many uncles and aunts, their many friends etc. No, those guys don't look fantastic, they look almost as bad as most men after their 45- 50s. I agree that men are less judged by their physical looks though.
