British people, are you proud to be British?

As you see the flags of founded British colonies and existing oversea territories above, so are you proud to be British because of dominating majority parts of the world? Actually I couldn't count the number of those flags due to huge number... If I were British, I am sure that I would be proud to own the world... What do you think about it?

as a British person, I can say honestly that no one here gives a toss about conquering the entire world anymore. It's just not important here. We do love our history here because it is so extensive, especially when regarding our monarchy. Stories of Walter Raleigh coming back with the potato, or Francis Drake finishing his game of Boules despite the invasion of the Spanish Armada, are things any normal Brit should be proud of. We hear stories of other people finding and discovering stuff in other countries but our actual heritage is what we consider more important than that. Don't take my word for it that's just one British bloke's opinion, but I think that is more or less it.

Absolutely, Britain birthed the modern world, Magner Carter, the Rule of Law, Shakespeare, the colonies were left to be the successful countries in the world. Many indeed still wish they were part of it.
