Do men care if they are sexually harassed by women?

Mostly talking about the workplace with female bosses. It seems to be that most men are not alarmed by a woman making any kind of advances or veiled sexual statements to them, nor do they even view it as something to make them uncomfortable like it does for women, but can often find it fun. They say this is the major reason that most sexual harassment cases by women towards men go unnoticed and unreported and I do believe it.

I will admit that one of my female managers has done it and it didn't really make me feel threatened, though part of me was annoyed by the way she was trying to be slick about it because she knew she could get away with it and I would have to prove it if I really did want to squeal about it. My brother has also been in the same situation before with his own female boss.

I used to get sexual harrassed at a fast food chain. The women would walk by and pinch my butt. Then theyd laugh. Im a black guy who grew up in a white family. My relationships with black women have been complicated. I treated as not thug enough to date because im preppy and highly educated and polite.

Women they would pinch my butt it was humiliating. I didn't feel sexy. Even a girl i had a crush on would do it. I felt like i was a target of redicule. It was predominantly a black employed establishment and they only did this to me. It got so bad that my manager told them verbally to stop but gave no consequences. It happened for nearly a year until I left. I was afraid to change the fries because they would pinch my butt when walking past or slap it. I couldn't retaliate because itd be a man attacking a woman.

That is exceedingly true, even in my own experience too. Black women are very open about what they like and will tell you about what they don't like. And a lot of them do love hoods and thugs and think they're the epitome of a real man, yeah.

I've had something similar happen to me at an old restaurant job. My manager (mid-late 40s woman, I was 22 at the time) made me feel uncomfortable with how she'd touch me. She would bump into me, maybe my accident, and then squeeze my arm muscle; it's hard to explain, I usually have to demonstrate. Another waitress, closer to my age, did this too once or twice.

It put me in an uncomfortable spot, not only because I wasn't comfortable with this, but also because I wasn't sure if this was intentional or not. But if I was certain that this was intentional, I would've brought it to someone's attention.

They don't care one bit from what I've witnessed in my last two jobs. I've seen women grope and make sexual advances towards guys and they just play it off as no big deal. If the roles were reversed in the things I've seen, there would probably be lawsuits lol

the reason men don't make a big deal out of it is due to three reasons. 1 they want it. 2 they are raised to think it is an acceptable action. or 3 they know there would be no retribution for it so acting about it pointless.

1. They probably mostly want it because it rarely happens, and I'm sure they wouldn't want it from ugly people either. 2. They aren't raised to think of it at all because women barely ever do it. 3. There's no retribution because men have never made a big deal out of it... since they don't have as much to worry about. 4. If a man did complain, most people wouldn't take him seriously in most situations... because, again, men have less to worry about when it happens, since they are stronger.

Hold on a minute. I don't know if I'd say men mostly want it just because it rarely happens, rather they aren't particularly UNwelcoming it because they don't see it as terrible.

And on top of that I'm not even sure I would say it's very rare anymore. It actually happens a lot more than we really know or realize because men don't report it and because people choose to think it happens when it does, so we make ourselves ignorant and unaware.

I don't know, but I think it's common thought that if you get something too much, you don't see it as special anymore. Also, if women were to do it, I think, in general, they'd be more subtle about it. Men are not subtle about it at all, they will say the crudest, most inappropriate things. And I agree that they also don't see it as terrible, because of the reasons I gave above.

Oh women definitely try to be more slick about it - like my own boss, but I do know male bosses can be pretty covert about it too. It's only the really desperate ones who are obvious. Even the desperate women bosses who try to mess with younger guys because they know they won't have the courage to say anything.

If it's not welcomed, then it's sexual harassment. If it's welcomed, then it's not sexual harassment. If someone were to be harassed, they would care because, by definition, they are being subject to unwanted intimidation. If you're annoyed, then you do care because it bothered you.

It's pretty obvious that most men wouldn't feel threatened and uncomfortable as much as a woman would be if the situation was reversed because men are bigger/stronger than women. Men would be annoyed if they're not attracted to her and if they're not in the mood or whatever.

I was very annoyed and I didn't enjoy it one bit when I was sexually harassed by girls in middle school because 1. I'm not attracted to females and I don't want anyone to touch me 2. It was very demeaning

Actually if they are a lot older than me yeah I would be extremely uncomfortable. I posted an opinion a couple of days ago where I was sexually harassed by a woman in her 40's and it made me extremely uncomfortable. My friends thought it was funny though.

I am not sure about the threatening aspect because what man would say he was harassed by a woman in the work force. But he would be annoyed all the way because he knows she is more likely to get away with it than if the role was reversed.
