Fwiw I think it's pathetic that some men (+ a few women) get their jollies exposing their floppy private parts to hotel employees. Do they think the maid or room service want to see that? Do they think it's an original idea? Like they've never seen that before?

Anyway, unless it's very overt (like touching or sexual talk), I don't think it's worthy of or necessary to report it. It's just sad to the point that it's almost laughable. The worker is going to tell their co-workers anyway.

I've stayed at hotels, put out the "do not disturb" sign, and STILL had housekeeping unlock the door and fight the safety lock on my room to get in. If you (not you, Asker, but the housekeeping staff) are doing that, then you're going to sometimes see things that you didn't wish to see. Respect goes both ways.

I have no doubt that some guests do things on purpose, and I have no doubt that some are legit accidents (another guest swipes the "do not disturb" sign or flips it around as a joke), and some are housekeeping being too aggressive/entitled to get into the room.

I think hotel workers need to use some common sense and discretion about when to report, but I also definitely think they need to report anything that was obviously done on purpose of this nature.

It should definitely be reported. I don't think it is sexual harassment in the traditional sense because that usually connotes inappropriate action by someone having supervisory authority over a subordinate. In Florida, this could be prosecuted as lewd and lascivious behavior.

Sexual harassment, as I understand, is loosely defined. If I tell a girl at work I like her perfume, is that harassment? But if I push it, it could become harassment. I recall a story about a prison inmate who had a habit of being naked in his cell. A female guard tried to sue him and lost. The judge determined the man's cell was his private space. It's probably the same with hotel rooms. A guy forgets to put up the Do Not Disturb sign, and you accidentally walk in on him stepping out of the shower. The harassment accusation could go either way. If it were me, I'd be like, Hi! As I quickly wrap a towel around my more sensitive areas, and ask you for your number. I'd just remind the guest of the DND sign and let it go.

What you are suggesting might work on a case by case basis for a handful of guests. But there's no way they every room could have a set time to be serviced every day. That would be a logistics nightmare and fiscally very inefficient.

it's just a very simple management solution dude. hey in this room you need to be dressed from 8-10 am, in this room you need to be dressed from 16-18 pm... it's just a matter of scheduling that with the cleaning company or if it's in house just schedule it with the respective staff. i really don't see the big issue here xD

i just explained it. it's a very simple schedule solution.

you give each room a certain time frame to be cleaned and therefore each floor or corridor has a certain time frame to be cleaned, which depending on the number of rooms per floor shouldn't exceed a time frame of 2 hours considering that as you said 800 rooms will take like 6-7 hours.

so the working staff has 2 hours for the first floor or corridor then another 2 hours to do the next and those 2 hours are the ones that the inhabitants of each floor have to agree to be dreessed in. this way you don't make everyone wear clothes for 7 hours in the day.

so for example floor 1 gets cleaned from 8-10 am, floor 2 from 10-12. so if you live in floor one you gotta be dressed from 8-10 and in floor 2 from 10-12 and the cleaning staff has 4 hours to clean floor 1 and 2 and you just continue that logic for however many floors there are or whatever logical devision makes sense in the particular establishment.
