Boyfriend Didn't Get Me Anything For My Birthday, Not Even A Card?

I may sound selfish but I'm a little hurt that my boyfriend didn't get me something for my birthday. He remembered and said he was broke however even if he were to at least get a card I would be happy but I got no card or present. Am I being selfish here?

We have been going out for 3 years now. I said to him I wanted to go shopping but 3 weeks later he has still not but any money aside and we said we would go shopping but alas not. We are meant to be going shopping tomorrow but he was moaning that his legs were sore from work as he is a chef so we might not even go tomorrow. He spent $70 on wireless headphones so we had to ask people for money to get to work for the rest of the week. He is going to buy a $20 DLC for a game this weekend and he is looking at G-fuel drinks. Oh and vape liquids that I don't even know how much they came too.

I just started working again as I lost my job over Christmas and my first pay check is this weekend and unfortunately will go on bills and paying people back. This is more of a rant tbh now but what do you think?

I just got paid and I told him as it is my first pay check in 6 months and I was exited. The first thing he asks me for is $17 for a DLC for a game I mentioned before, sorry got the price wrong. And he said he will pay me back. Probably in a takeaway as we won't be going out today

Okay your relationship is all about him and his needs.. things will get worse from here not better most likely.. I understand he's broke I've been there too but you know what for my mans birthday I was broke.. I made him a card.. I made a candle lit dinner for us.. he doesn't think outside the box.. I would share with him how you feel you got nothing for your birthday and it makes you feel like he doesn't appreciate you... he will most likely shrug it off dont get him anything for his birthday instead treat yourself to something you want like he did with those head phones.. he's a poor excuse for a boyfriend you deserve better...

One more thing stop allowing him to guilt you into spending your money on him.. id consider breaking up and just being room mates without any benefits until you can get enough saved up for your own place.. sorry chickie happy birthday or happy belated birthday!

i know that feeling. the person i love never gets me anything for mine not even a happy birthday. 4 years almost (3 1/2 years) and i never got a damn thing from that person. last year i flew out 3000 miles to see them and bought them 1ct diamond heart necklace in 14k gold and 1ct diamond hoop earrings in 10k gold and i didn't so much get a happy birthday for mine. so think of how i feel. year before that i bought this person a metorite saying if i could get you the moon i would, the year before that i named a star after them. and each year i got nothing in return

He's a bum. Leave him in the dust. You always get your lady something for her birthday, however frugal it might have to be. I know birthdays don't mean fuck all to men, but women take them seriously. So you just do it because it makes her happy and that's it. And anyone that bums money from their girlfriend is a waste of her time. Real men can look after themselves.
