I actually have a good posture, but the reason as to why is very interesting.
Since I have a backpack and a long umbrella, sometimes it's too big to just carry with me everywhere I go. So, I decide to just sheath it between my back and the backpack.
This has actually forced me to straighten my back a lot so it doesn't feel uncomfy against my back, and I've been able to mostly avoid having bad posture because of how much I usually do that.
I now sit up straight and stand up straight a lot. I dunno if this is the actual reason as to why I have good posture, but it worked for me.
Great
I don't and probably never will. I was born with completely feet and off center ankles. So stretching and strength training every morning has been a normal thing for years. Just to keep my back and ankles from becoming more of a mess. Also a really good pair of boots and custom inserts help as well.
Yeah I notice my posture is a little better when I have platforms on so I stopped wearing flat shoes.
Since my BR three years ago and no longer having to carry all that weight on my chest, my posture has improved immensely, and the hunch in my spine is now hardly noticeable.
That's great!
Yeah.. the perks of being a gymnastics girl in my younger years

Yes when stanging & lisfting things. But no when sitting. I have no idea why.
Yeah mine is really bad when I sit.
Definitely.
yes... being just above 6ft tall, it's very easy to get lower back pain if you have a bad posture, add to that the fact I messed up my back big time when I was early 20's...
don't want any of that again, good posture is a must/good habit for me to have...
How'd you mess your back up?
I lifted and carry a big piece of furniture with glass on my own... yes, that was quite stupid, and then I lost balance so it was going to fall and break, I did not let that happen
I saved with the strength of my core, my arms, and my back... stupidest move ever
after that, I spent a whole week bedridden and in excruciating pain
Ouch. Sounds painful.
yes I did cry a couple of times...
the dumbest of all was for me to go through it without painkillers and never checked with a doctor
Ahh yeah, that wasn't very smart at all sir. Thankfully you weren't permanently damaged.
lucky me... lol (knocking on wood)
Lol for sure
Mine is not amazing. I generally don't like to sit. I prefer to stand or to lie down.
At a restaurant, sitting face to face from a friend, I maintained quite excellent posture.
However, when at university, where I'm using my laptop (leaning in / looking down), my posture is trash 50% of the time and still quite excellent 50% of the time. The reason for this excellence is that once my back hurts enough from the bad posture, it is no longer a conscious decision to have good posture. Non-good posture is highly uncomfortable, so I'm forced into good posture.
So my mom did posture contests in high school. That translated to me getting told how to stand up straight. I've been told to relax a time or two when hanging out with friends. Also, I'm a PT so I do posture and body mechanics training all the time. It does make a difference to have good posture.
I'm sure it does.
The human spine is not a straight line. The education system from elementary to high school has caused untold suffering and ptsd and back problems for billions of people with their Sadistic torture devices they called chairs and forced children to sit in
I hate those damn desks
Yea me too! I blame my bad slouching habit on them and all my current back problems
Yeah, I'm tallish, not crazy tall, just 6-6'1, smth like that. Normal for tall people, I had scoliosis when I was young. Not terrible but it was there, I had to learn to fix my own posture and eventually did, especially when I started lifting n all. Now I have pretty good posture I like to think.
That's good
my girlfriend notices me slouching and encourages me. Im work on it. it's weak muscles and force fitting from 1/2 century of slouching on dirt bikes, computers, bicycles. I think mostly computers are the issue. I'm trying to do as much back bends as I can so I don't turn back into a monkey... or worse... an ameoba.
Yes I do, that’s because I was always slouched over back when I was 12 and some made fun of me so since then I always consciously started standing up tall, then they started making fun of me for overdoing it, then I adjusted it a bit more and consciously kept good posture all the time for over a year until I was 15
Now I stand with good posture subconsciously but part of it may also be due to the fact that I have a great physique now compared to my skinny 13 year old self
Mine's great when I'm upright. I tend to slouch back when I sit, though.
When I was 13 or 14 (the summer before 9th grade), I started learning to surf. In 10 grade, I had quite a few surfer friends. I noticed their impeccable posture and became conscious of my own. It became a natural habit.
Both men and women with great posture look ideal.
Only when I Think about it (is it good).
The irony about it is , as a Massage Therapist, we preach about good posture and we are taught the proper "body mechanics" (posture while giving a massage). But after almost 30 years of doing the body work, it starts taking its toll, no matter HOW hard one may try to be proper.
Oh I give special attention to postures. I have seen first-hand what a bad posture can do to a photo.
Never again.
Always use table for laptop or PC.
Yeah I need to work on it
Mine does too at times, I don't like walking the way a woman is supposed to walk around certain people which is; knockers up, back straight, and swing your hips, because gross ugly people check me out in an uncomfortable way. I have a past of being violated so I don't like it.
Same girl, same.
We should stand up straighter though just for health benefits, I'm not swinging my hips though lol
Having fucked my back this morning lol, usually I would say yes.
however banging in pain relief at moment and various alcoholic remedies
Lol alcohol remedies
I used to, not anymore. Working out helped me to have a better posture. There is ergonomics training and it is good to learn
I'll check it out
I'm still young so my posture is good. If I bend my back then my mom or dad will shout that stay like that if you want to become like your grandpa by the end of your teenage.
Broke my L3 in high school. Since then if I don't use proper posture it actively hurts. Pain is a powerful motivator.
Yes it is
I would say most of us don't. However, there's one excercise you can use to fix your posture, that is "face pulls", which works out your upper back. A stronger upper back makes it less likely for someone to slouch over, plus you will make Athlean-X proud!
One of the things people compliment me on is my posture. I always make sure I'm lifting, pushing, walking, sitting, etc in correct healthy forms.
Awesome
Yes and no. I always try to avoid slouching, cause I'm already short, but because of my back and my shoes sometimes hurting, I think I unintentionally end up slouching anyway.
Most of the time I do, but right now I have one foot on my seat, I'm close to sitting like Gollum
😂😂😂
You're welcome!
Exercising religiously for many years to shed pounds & inches has strengthened my core which improved my posture.
Having big knockers has been tolling for my posture but I use exercises to fix it.
👁👁 sharing is caring lol
i try. lately i have been bending my knees to pick things up. and sitting up straghter more. pardon my spelling.
I have lumbar lordosis (the curve) which is allegedly considered hot on women. I’m really curious if it’s ugly or good on men
I'll have to Google that
@ShaTTeredMasterpeace have you done that yet?
I have and I actually feel like I have some form of that
@ShaTTeredMasterpeace hawt. So is it weird on men?
I wouldn't use weird lol.
What would you use?
Different
In which way?
@ShaTTeredMasterpeace
get one of those back straigning harness things then.
do u have big boobs that weigh u down at the front?
Yeah I do
@ShaTTeredMasterpeace
what size bra do u have?
Nope my posture sucks. It has gotten wors with online classes too so sloucha-girl is coming through
I think so for the most part. Could be better though.
Yes. My mother corrected me 100 thousands times as child. I wonder my spine did not disintegrate
I think my posture is good however I sometimes do slouch in my couch or chair if I am just lounging around home watching TV. Usually if I am working I have my back straight and shoulders back.
i'm always moving around in my chair and re-positioning myself
I think I do. My aunt taught me to walk straight since I was very young. Also, yoga helps.
Having had back injuries & surgery I have had to learn to control my posture. If I don't watch myself & pay attention it starts to get bad.
I'm 5'3 with an anterior tilt soooo... yeah.
Pretty good posture. And an even greater amount of zinc and iodine as a child apparently.
Gymnastics and dance helped teach me to have good posture.
I got big tiddies so no 🤣
Same sis 😂😂😂
Interestingly, I almost always find myself in the fetal position lying, sitting, standing. 🤷🏻♀️
standing: good posture i think
running: good posture
sitting: sometimes good sometimes bad posture
picking something up: bad posture
Sadly no.
I also slouched a lot to hide my body, and I sit by the computer a lot.
Yes , thanks to my mom always making sure I sit properly as a kid.
Nah lol. It comes from sitting on my ass watching a lot of youtube and playing video games :p
Generally no. I have to keep reminding myself not to slouch
I take it back. I do sometimes have good posture
Lol ok
I do my best to, but some days I need to use my crutches and in those days I don't mind that too much.
Im too slouchy making me feel slugish sometimes. Its planted in my subconscious mind
Up to 2018 I was okay. In 2019 I started to have back issues
Nah not at all from laying weird while playing games haha
I also slouch because maibtaining a straight body is tiring. My mom always nags me about this.
My posture sucks lmao but I’m trying to fix it
Same
Same
I tend my neat to always be upright, want keep my back in a better posture.
Yes, if you can keep up the disciplined practice {which is hard to maintain:} Better posture will benefit you when you get older.
I bet
Ha, haha,... hahahahaha! I feel like this answers the question 😬
Mine could definitely be better I’ve been working on it.
Well, GET those boobs out there!!
I try lol
😂😂😂
No, i need to improve it lol.
I look like a shrimp
Lol aw man
probably not the best, I tend to slouch at times.
No I’m 6’1 but if you stood next to me I look 5’11
Lol wow
No, whenever I realize I forgot while slouching, I strengthened my back.
nope, but I'm trying to work on it for my Ballroom dancing.
Not really, I´m trying to fix it
