Why are males more likely to be born?

There seems to be like 3x more men than woman I noticed when um walking about in public. Why is it more likely for a mom to be become pregnant with a male instead of female?
Is there a reason for this in nature? Like maybe males are more useful?

Also almost all girls are taken and have a boyfriend, but there's tonnes of single. That's proof there's a limited amount of girls alive

For your information, nature sees to it that there are slightly more females than males around, as in ~1.05 to 1.
So if the numbers seem so for off around you, the only explanation is manual interference. For example in a lot of Indian regions the would-be parents have the gender analyzed prenatally, so they can abort the fetus (to avoid paying dowry). You can imagine the long-term effect.

Yeah, the long term effect is that there are way more males than females, so the men who are "the difference" have problems with finding a wife. The same is in China (there females were aborted because of one-child policy).

Well its the males who determine what the sex of a baby will be.

Take a look at the actuarial stats, man- there HAVE to be more of us born (and more of us conceived; we're less likely even to make it to birth), because we die so much younger. It's a consequence of risk-taking. By the time our death rates even out, there are ALREADY more women.

Human males have much higher selection pressure. We always have.

If I follow my own logic, I'd say it's due to their more risky side. The death rate is higher and then boom there is some kind of equilibrium with the female ratio

My area has more females than male, it depends more about what sorts of schools and industry are in the area than the actual birthrates, since people move around more often nowadays than in the past

In usa there is 98 males for 100 females. If you do the math for 300 million people. There should be 3 million more females than males.

I don't believe in statistics... How do they get those numbers? Do they go around asking every 8 billion person alive their gender?
What about the isolated tribes?
And what about people who killed theirself that we don't even know about?
It's impossible to know the exact amount of girls to boys alive

I'm jus gathering from general rule of thumb.. whenever I watch a video of New York city, or jus some TV programme or something.. I swear there's always more boys

And especially in online video games 90 percent of players have male characters
