Have you heard of any cat murderers in your country if so how common?

In my own country there was a cat murderer he enjoys killing stray cats which made people hated him. Those with cats had to lock their cats in their own home as they feared their cats might meet the same fate as those strays. The mysterious murder made headlines again when the newspapers showed a kitten with separate body parts!
