Idiots.
I guess we can expect to see more of it, now that an average Joe can drive a Tesla that's just as quick as those exotics - sure they have all sorts of sophisticated electronic stability controls, but you just know that the kind of guy who thinks it's a good idea to drive fast on public roads, is also the kind of guy who is going to turn all those off, because he thinks he's such a great driver.
And I don't get how they haven't all had their licenses revoked or even ended up behind bars - these are pretty blatant cases of dangerous driving, and they could easily have killed someone.
The court system in the UK is a joke. You see so many videos of high speed police chases, where the criminal is endangering countless lives and causing thousands of pounds worth of damage - and at the end, there will be a caption revealing that they got no more than a small fine or suspended sentence (meaning no jail time unless they re-offend).
There was one guy who'd just got out of prison, had been banned from driving three times, was driving under the influence of both alcohol and cocaine, had no driving license or insurance, and was doing 70mph on the wrong side of the road - and again, the judge gave him a suspended sentence.

Driving fast, powerful cars is decidedly difficult (especially the Viper with no advanced safety features of any kind), and it takes skill and practice and lots of expensive and comprehensive maintenance to keep the car in the right shape to drive that way safely.
Having a big bank account does not mean you have those skills. It's actually not very uncommon for supercar buyers to crash their cars on the way home from buying them. Such cars are a major and important source of spare parts.
I used to race in SCCA and I've been to Skip Barber, which means that I am smart enough to know that it would take me months or years of regular practice to be able to drive a supercar anywhere near its limits.
Too many people treat these cars like a video game, but destroying $400,000 of car is a lot easier than most people realize.
lol Hilarious.
The amount of people in expensive cars that think I am going to race them on my bikes. Grinding gears through their entire box. I’m just cringing as they fly by. I’m not losing my license to someone like that.
Same with some other bikers too. They take such offense when I take out my scooter to shop. They learn they can’t find 1st gear under pressure, attempting to peal out in neutral.. 🤣Especially when people start honking them. I’m halfway up the road already (with Toilet Paper strapped on back lol) just buzzing along, when they finally catch up sounding like they’ll need a new clutch shortly.
Too much money, not enough sense.
Fools.
I'm not sure I'd ever buy a car that expensive. I do want a nice and sporty car, but I would feel too paranoid with a car that nice or limited edition.
I feel like I'm an alright driver - 12 years of driving without accidents. But I would feel like a target in a car that nice with the idiot drivers in my city.
I'll get a decent car and spend the money to customize and upgrade it.
It astounds me people buy these monsters and then act like it's going to handle and run the same as a fucking Civic.

Clowns, you see it a lot after motor meets etc.
where someone floors a car and has zero skill and even less control.
This is true no matter the price bracket.
For example a Golf R (stage 2-3) will hit between 10.3 seconds to 13 seconds
with a 0 to 60 mph of 3.24 for a Stage 2 Golf R.
0-60 mph 3.24s
60-100 mph 4.41s
62-124 mph 8.79s
100-200 kmh 8.85s
60-130 mph 10.30s
Luckily it’s AWD, so it does not stick it’s arse out.
Now do that in a BMW M2 or a pre Xdrive M3 or M5
Its that sudden application of power when you mash ur loud pedal that disengages the brain.
A modern 400bhp car can be bought relatively cheaply, it can have an under 4 seconds 0 to 60 time.
while the media will always concentrate on the high value cars, the same things happen. Day in day out with normal cars driven by normal people who on collection day have a brain fart. It's where you believe because you're well off, the force of nature doesn't apply to you.
It happens to more than just the rich, with their toys. It's been a thing since cars have been going more than with 400 hp in the bay. Really anything above 500 hp is insane, especially off the track.
I have seen countless Mustang GT's, Challengers and Camaros go flying off the road, and often after just being purchased. They watch Ford vs Ferrari and think they are Ken Miles, and you have to remember he died behind the wheel of a GT40 with less hp than anything on the road today with higher quality motors now leaving the showroom in excess of 600hp, and that was on a closed race track. With great power comes great responsibility...
Or more money than brains...
People who buy super cars without the knowledge of how to really operate them probably are buying them for all the wrong reasons. They are just posers. Serious drivers who truly appreciate these cars drive responsibly on the street and after training push them on a track during track days. Rat racing on the street is for morons. As a motor vehicle damage field adjuster/appraiser for 30 years in the Los Angeles area, I saw that a lot. Idiots who had tiny dick complexes and more money than they knew what to do with would buy high performance sports/race cars and drive them straight into curbs and trees because they didn't know how to drive them.
You can't fix composite material or a bent aluminum frame.
And those customers were complete ass holes to deal with. They are simply ignorant. They should start with a less powerful car and get some track time. I don't see the point of driving such cars on public roads. There are many less expensive cars that can be driven about as fast as anyone would want to go on the highway and that handle well enough to be a joy to drive.
I am not in that income bracket but there are some that have driving schools Range Rover and others even more expensive. They also have whats been nick named "limp mode" to tame the beast and make them more street friendly. If they got the money and dont kill someone then go for it!
Yep, I see that quite often.
I work at a major road course on the safety team, and when there are track days where you can run your own car on the track it happens.
There have been some cars totaled out.
This past weekend there was a camero that hit the tire wall at turn 12.
It was driven to the track, its going home on a roll back.
Hopefully when they wad it up on the street they don't take anyone else with them.or why do you buy a car that can drive 400mph, if there's litterally no road you can drive that fast on?
All of ''us'' believe that they are little ''Schumacher's''
https://www.youtube.com/embed/HphZ5I6gR6cLet them crash what they want - as long as I don't get hit.
None. They don't take up any real estate in my head. ☺
To be fair I saw my neighbor hit his tree like Bush's the other night with his van and normal trucks on the road cut you off like no ones business on I 20 so the way I see it people just can't drive in general
They're dumb because they're wasting their money. They shouldn't even be driving cars they don't know how to drive.
A fool and his money (spent on an exotic sports car) are soon parted... or wrapped around a telephone pole.
The people that purchase these vehicles are business men and entrepreneurs. They don't spend their time learning how to race. They don't care. The cash-flow they have will pay for the deductible and they'll get a new toy.
None of my business. As long as they aren't driving drunk or on busy streets with lots of people. I'm not jealous of what other people have.
Either nothing, or probably the dick doesn't work anymore.
A little foolish to say the least but hey even good/great drivers crash look at F1 or when Rowan Atkinson crashed his McLaren
I had a Lamborghini once my business took off. I was very young and dumb. It was the most unreliable piece of shit ever. It was impossible to back up. It was not made for everyday driving.
Take my advice. Get a reliable vehicle at a reasonably low consumer price. It proves that our society is fucked due nepotism and rich people aren't smarter than poor ones. They just have better opportunities to steal and to betray without consequences.
They are the risk takers and forward thinkers. I don't blame them. I blame me, who isn't one of them.
