It's kinda a myth how much people believe one needs. You get plenty just from foods you eat. And if your drinking anything that ain't water that will of course count to. Pop still is just water.
Unless your noticing signs of dehydration ya don't have to worry. They say for normal metabolism it's around 2L of water. But again you get it from food aswell. So realistically 1L should be fine, maybe 1.5. But let's say you also had breakfast with not only does that food lower it but that will too Milk of course.
Then it all depends on what you do in a day too. Like are you running? and other things? Depends on the heat of the day etc.
Realistically it should never be problem longs if your a person who can feel the need to drink when thirsty and if someone is not they should and need to see a doctor already.

The standard recommendation is 6 ounces of water per today, but my understanding is that this target includes all of the water within the foods that you eat.
A guy I used to work with 30 years ago said that you're supposed to drink a gallon a day. I have no idea if that's true but, I hardly even drink a quart a day. For years I went without drinking any water except for tea or hot chocolate and whatever was in the root beer I used to guzzle (at least 2 liters a day). When I was a kid, I could go to the fountain in school and practically drink it dry in one visit!! Then, one day, I started to notice the water at my house tasted dry like paper or aspirin and I just stopped drinking it for at least a decade!
6-8 glasses from AM-6pm if 10pm bed…. Exercising usually leads to sweating.
It depends on how much you weigh. I can't remember the exact number but it's so many ounces a day per pound of body weight.
Drink when your thirsty. Make sure you have enough electrolytes. Without electrolytes it doesn't matter how much water you drink you will never fully be hydrated.
I think its like 7-8 glasses a day, but I've never drank that much water in one day.

In my opinion if your thirsty drink. I probably consume a gallon a day easy. On hot days more.
I go by the color of my urine. If it looks like yellow paint. Then you need to drink more water. Providing that isn’t caused by medication.
