I've never actually been broke. Like I've struggled lol but never wondered where my next meal would come from or been unable to get Starbucks if I wanted or gas.
But when money has been tight in the past or when I just wanna rack up the numbers I just cut out the bullshit. Buy the same groceries. Milk, eggs, bread, peanut butter/jelly, ramen, frozen veggies, rice, fruit. Drink only water.
Fill up gas at half tank so I never have a higher than wanted gas price. Bed early, get up early, cut all media unless I'm doing something else. Like I'll listen to YouTube vids while working or working out. But never just watching entertainment.
Sounds like it doesn't help save money but being in a more productive headspace both saves and makes you money because you're more time efficient. You get more work done and more effective work.
I don't do hourly work so more output means more dollars for me. But even when I did have hourly work I was flipping TV's for extra cash. It's easy to make money.
Money Management mostly comes down to not spending it on bullshit and being more productive with your time. Time Management and money management to me are synonymous.

I've been broke a few times in my life. Those are important lifelessons. Listen well.
If having fun and going out makes you broke - trade that kind of fun for video games or a good book.
If you lack money from buying a lot of stuff for the home - go to a flea market, buy cheaper stuff.
If you feel your salary isn't enough - trade jobs, get a second income or work as much overtime as you can.
If your friends are expensive, ie wants the lot of you to spend more than you're comfortable with to entertainer yourselves as a group - change friends or at least see them less often.
The key to keep yourself from going broke is very simple, higher income than expenses. Should be obvious enough but many people won't take a hard look at themselves and do the necessary changes because it's soul crushing and takes a lot of work. This is especially True if you hate your job and use whatever you spend money on to coup.
Good luck.
Drugs. The right drug will keep you infinitely content, with whatever you have around you. And if you don’t have money by the time you are out of drugs you can sleep for like a week or so. And hopefully something came to you In a dream. Other than that, painting, drawing, some kind of art. It can help. Usually takes some time too.
I read $2.00 kindle books I buy on Amazon, some cost less than $4.00 and are almost 600 pages. Our library also lets you borrow free ebooks if you have a digital device and I produce my own work too, and I listen to positive music when I like the lyrics.

I was broke at one point, I just did whatever was free or cheap. cheap food made at home, bicycle rides are cheap, workout at home. turn off the cell phone... you don't need it, use a free inernet line, etc.. turn off the cable, etc.. half the crap you have you don't need. put tha tin the bank, now you have money to play with. I don't drink or smoke, drink water from faucet, it's cheap.
it's tough now on a lot of people though with the cost of living and fuel. bad...First call all your services and say you are having financial problems and ask about a discount and or remove something like a channel or option. Next is there anything you are paying for that you are not using enough, shut it off or lower it. Store brands are often better than name brands or made by a name brand. Make that Starbucks at home and save a lot! Do not eat out as often. Loans call and ask to defer a payment to catchup. Ask credit cards to lower your interest rates.
I can't spend money I don't have, so I keep a low cost life style so I don't become broke. So usually the money keeps stacking up since I always use less than I earn each month.
I use community resources and all that they have to offer. What I can't use I donate. I also try to stay hip on anything current that someone may benefit from.
How does everyone manage to go out and entertain yourself when you're broke? Long story short you don't. If you're lucky and have cool friends maybe a house party every now and then. Clubbing in America is fun but extremely overpriced. Festivals are cool too but it can be a struggle to find a good group to go with. My strategy is to save a little and go party in Mexico where I have lots of friends and where $1000USD basically makes you a millionaire for two weeks.
Normal people have hobbies and friends that keep them entertained. You seem to have to pay people to entertain you because you lack any real substance...
I think it was a lot easier when I was young. I was able to sneak into places like drive in movies and swimming pools. I could go camping in the woods and not get arrested for trespassing. Now everything is a profit center for somebody.
People have accused me of being a bank robber when I'm broke, but I have no reason to rob a bank when I sell drugs on Grand Avenue. You wouldn't believe how much money you can make selling drugs or printing fake credit cards over on Grand Avenue.
I have been setting the budget for many years. I first make sure that I have my rent, utilities and food money set aside. And then I pay my other bills. Whatever is left over I give myself 10% for savings. The rest is fun money 💰, if there's any left over.
I have a crude quite a little nest egg over the years. And I get what I want when I want it I usually pay cash. I have no debts, and my house is paid off.You make every cent counts, at that point you learn to budget any and everything that you can earn or you can come across
Chuck a half sovereign into an envelope to the coin dealer I use and get paid some cash in my account in a day or two
In the past, I did without. Now I am never broke and I see no reason to be that I ever will be.

I always find something to do to kill time, since my mind never stops racing. I'll either walk, or drive the open road. Or just go back to sleep
