I am broken, what shall I do?

I have been flirting with this guy for a few months. We are in a house share. From his body language I got he was flirting with me too. From his messaging too. Then yesterday I found out he went on a date with a girl. I am trying to think when he could have met this girl as he never goes anywhere apart from ruby training. (He plays professionally) at training He is always with guys and then he comes back straight home. In his spare time he never goes out and It is all a bit weird as whenever I have asked him if he had a girlfriend he has always denied it. Once a friend of his told me if I knew he had a girlfriend in front of him and he said he didn’t. His friend was looking for my reaction. The other day I asked him if we should do something but he said he had plans and when I asked him if he was going out with a girl he said no. Today when I saw him I asked how the food was and he told me it was not very good. He had actually tried all the foods I have previously said I liked and he always said he would never try them himself. Then to try and catch him out I asked if she liked the food and he says yes. I asked him if he was going to see her again and he raised his shoulders but that the date went well.
Why did he say no to going out with a girl when I asked him the first time and now he seems to admit it.
why would he try all my favourite foods when in a date with another girl?
it is all so sudden too I never saw it coming. It has only been a date. Should I stick around and continue to be his friend and wait to see if it gets serious? I have never told him directly how I feel about him as I thought he knew. We flirt a lot and we play music to each other and we have held hands etc. I have to say one of his friends is a bit of a player and I am wondering if he had something to do with arranging this date? Hola

Have I misread the signs? Has he been playing with me?
