@Lliam No but it proves you're stupid. Who compares something that can happen any time (a fire) to a situation that may never occur (a break in) and think it's comparable. Americans are stupid people
@Lliam These are the people the government LOVES because they are so EASILY manipulated and controllable!! So incredibly stupid, they can be brainwashed by a commercial on t. v.!!
@FunkyMonkee. Gasp! Are you saying that politicians and paid actors who read news off of teleprompters are untrustworthy? Say it ain't so. š¤£š¤£š¤£
I used to work nights at a gas station. My brother was robbed there at gunpoint before I worked there. People would try to set the place up to be robbed. I also would deal with fucked up drug addicts all night. It's already illegal for them to carry guns but laws don't stop bad people. I figured if they are going to shoot at me, I should be able to shoot back and it was legal for me to be armed in a private business. I'm not going to be a coward and just let some piece of shit kill me.
For protection? I've used a gun to stop someone attempting to commit a crime before. Simply aiming at the man he ran away. So its definitely useful. I should be able to feel safe at night and unless you plan to pay for me to have an armed security detail everywhere I go, i will be armed myself.
You actually do not have the right of way in a powered vehicle first of all. Pedestrians have more ārightsā than anyone else on the road, and all others must defer to them.

ROFL. No law that pedestrians right of way on the road except a crosswalk. If you are jaywalking & get run over, you're at fault for being an idiot. Many areas have tickets & more for jaywalking morons.
So then it's my "right" to run over your dog, your cat, your child, your spouse, your parents, your siblings, your friends or you in the middle of the road. Vehicles have the "right of way" on the roads so why is it not my "right" to run you down if you're not using a crosswalk?
Not American but I'm an elected official in a country where we have good gun regulations; and after receiving death threats due to my position I applied for and started to carry a gun for personal safety. I don't see why Americans all feel the need to carry guns as normal citizens, since they live in a safe country; whereas I'm threatened by criminals and rebels just for serving my own.
If I may, I'd just like to clear a few misconceptions up that I see here.
It's not as safe here as one might think. We get crime and violence just like everywhere else. America is an enormous area and the government only gives the illusion of power and safety.
In the majority of the communities it is up to the individual citizens to protect themselves. Not just from criminals but from wildlife as well.
We also did in fact used to be a subjugated coutry, and we're not exactly very keen on that happen again.
NOT ANYMORE!! Have you SEEN the shit going on in Chicago, Portland, Philly, New York and other places the past few years? Plus all the shitloads of illegals flooding over the border!! We are FAR FROM safe, thanks to Joey!!!
Because people are dangerous, their are many ways to kill people without guns. Knives, posion, bombs. People are dangerous and unlike with super heros. I am incapable defending myself against so many people. I need something to act as a equalizar and that's what guns are for
Oh, you know, in case the government pisses me off and I have to teach it a lesson by "overthrowing it". Oh wait... they have an Army and missiles, and.. just wait, please. I'm going to buy food and books instead of doing cosplay with guns like a fucking idiot.
If I might make a suggestion, kindly read the history of Stalingrad or other Soviet vs German battles on the Eastern Front in WWII. The overwhelmingly technologically superior German army lost to the overwhelmingly numerically superior Soviets, some of whom werenāt even armed until they killed a German and took his stuff. The Soviets who ācosplayed with guns like fucking idiotsā deleted enough of the Wehrmacht to shave years off the war. Today, the Ukrainians who ācosplay with guns like fucking idiotsā are curb stomping an overwhelmingly technologically superior first world military. I suggest you stop demonstrating your education or mental abilities and actually buy some books instead of just trolling online about it. Thanks for playingš¤£š¤£š¤£
@Sixgunsound Gee, how long was that battle you rattled on about? Almost 100 years? Of course, everything was *exactly the same* then as is now, right? You think maybe the climate had anything to do with the outcome as every history book contends? Enjoy your fantasies, moron.
Thank you for admitting you have no substantive argument by making a personal attack. Feel free to try again when your maturity level or academic abilities improveš
If someone walks into my house with a gun which happens here, I want a gun to shoot the intruder, it's simple really and in my state I got castle law, once they break an entry into my home I can use lethal forth to protect my household and family.
A semi automatic fires one round for every pull of the trigger. A semi auto chambers a new round after a round is fired. Semi auto magazines can hold from 6 to 19 rounds depending on caliber and the gun.
Excuse me bitch? I have a revolver. It still rotates the next round ready for fire, effectively making it the same as a semi auto DUMBASS... you really want to try me on gun knowledge?
@spartan55 - man you are a special sort of stupid. I asked why do you need a semi automatic and not a conventional pistol like a smith & western. Can you answer it, idiot
"conventional pistol" coming from Miss I'm So Smart... that's a term you just made up. First of all, it's Smith and WESSON, not western. Second, revolvers and semi autos are only different in the way the round is fed into the chamber. (rotating cylinder v magazine) Last, I didn't 'need' a semi auto, I preferred it for several reasons. My revolver has certain advantages that mostly are related to overall size and weight of the handgun and how concealable it is. Revolvers typically hold 5-6 rounds and take longer to reload.
My father was a hunter and I was raised to hunt (I don't care for it). When my father died I got all his guns. I gave most of them to my brother-in-laws. My father was a cop to. I really only kept his service revolver. But I really don't use it eirher, just upkeep it. So beyond my upbringing I'm not a gun person.
This is really no longer a gentle society, a society with citizens who value honesty, integrity, a work for their own things. And there is so much rage and DISILLUSIONMENT amongst too many factions. So, for many it has become a feasible way to stand fast before the hell-bent hurters.
I own fighting rifles so that I can subjugate or remove enemy troops and assist Russian & Chinese occupation forces in the upcoming civil conflicts on this continent. :)

ROFL. Chinese & Russian peasants won't even realize you exist. The soldiers would use you for shooting practice.
Yes it is your right to be seriously stupid and of low intelligence.
I posted the comparison between the "right" to own a gun and the "right" to run someone over - which is in ways legal if a jaywalker; that's why no law says jaywalkers have the right of way - to indicate how stupid and childish people saying it is their "right" to own a gun is.
Unfortunately, the vast majority of people who responded don't have any great levels of intelligence or comprehension.
There was one imbecile here, as a good example, who said I wasn't clear in what I was asking when I'd been asking the same question for three or four responses.
It was only when I called them stupid & wrote in capitals they seemed to understand part of what I was saying.
That's how low intelligence the responders have been to this post. And kindly proved that most pro gun totters are not intelligent.
I have an IQ of 158 according to Raven's Progressive Matrices. Nice projection though. You're a typical low IQ narcissist presenting a perfect example of the Dunning-Kruger effect.
To expose how little you know about what you proclaim to be an expert of, Iāll point you to the concept of comparative fault. As a driver you are responsible to keep your eyes on the road and be aware of your surroundings. If you have the opportunity to avoid the accident, but you choose not to then you are partially responsible and can be held legally accountable. While the jaywalker is breaking the law and is responsible for their actions, so to are you in almost every state. Thus if you can break in time to slow down or change lanes to avoid the accident, then it is your responsibility to do so. If it is proven that youāre accelerating into civilians, even though they are jaywalking, youāre going to face the consequence unless circumstance permit you to do so in the event of for example rioters trying to force their way into your car or a carjacker trying to hold you up a gun point (in some states).
When you are permitted to use deadly force in self defense there is a little more leeway in some states. The circumstances of the situation are always considered. You donāt have a right to just run over peopleās family members or livestockā¦ There is no law that grants you that right. There is however assignment of responsibility based on intent. So if you were minding your own business driving down the street at the speed limit and some random person leaps of the sidewalk or an overpass in front of your car and surprises you, your intent wasnāt for him to get run over, thus you donāt hold responsibility for their injuries or death.
Lol you aren't very familiar with traffic rules are you...
I own a gun because it is a tool that I use to feed my family and if necessary protect them.

ROFL. No idiot you aren't familiar. There is no law that says jay walkers have the right of way. Most states will say you getting run over is 50% at fault, as a minimum
@BlackBeauty90 apparently you arenāt familiar with the last clear change doctrine. The doctrine considers which party had the last opportunity to avoid the accident that caused the harm. Therefore, a negligent plaintiff may recover damages if they can show that the defendant had the last clear chance to avoid the accident. Not to mention that it is illegal to intentionally hit someone with your carā¦.
I love idiots like you. Just plain & simply absolutely useless. Too dumb to look up an easy law before sounding like a moron
From lawyers actual websites - they know law far more than you if you live to be 150 can ever hope.
>> It is possible for the pedestrian to be at fault, especially if the pedestrian was jaywalking or violating some other traffic rule.
It is against the law for a pedestrian to jaywalk, or walk on areas of a highway or road where pedestrian traffic is not permitted. Pedestrians must also obey traffic signals and signage where applicable, just like drivers.
If a pedestrian fails to follow these rules, and that failure plays a part in an accident, the pedestrian will probably be found at least partially at fault.
We donāt all own guns. However, guns are used for self protection and the second amendment says you have the right to own a firearm. Actually, the second amendment should be you have the right of self defense.
America is extremely corrupt and uncivilized the reason i own a gun is for the same reason why you would want to own a gun if your country is being invaded by Nazi Germany and there are soldiers with guns that want to take you a concentration camp.
Australia already beat us to it, but donāt think it canāt happen here. Ordinary Germans used to think the same thing, and we all know how that ended.
I don't, I am not allowed to. Even though I am a law abiding citizen; never threatened or stalked someone. Have a job that required an FBI background check and own a home. But because I have a mental disorder that makes me both more likely to be a victim of crimes and less likely to be a perpetrator my government says I don't have a right to protect myself.
@Lyndsielee666 Sorry to hear that, I wonder if there is a way to feel safer, hmm, oh well, maybe some brave, gun toating friend will protect you, stay safe!
@TheSpaceGnome Most situations she will find herself in require short-range, you idiot. What GOOD is a gun going to do her if she is attacked from someone hiding in bushes & has less than a minute to react?
@Juxtapose Most situations she will find herself in require short-range, you idiot. What GOOD is a gun going to do her if she is attacked from someone hiding in bushes & has less than a minute to react?
You need a whole minute to react? Your draw time alone is supposed to be a single second.. that's why you were supposed to maintain 20 ft away from an assailant.
@Juxtapose Oh so you really are as stupid as you sound. If someone is ambushing you, you have no time to draw you fuckard. Whereas with pepper spray & taser you don't need time.

"Most situations she will find herself in require short-range, you idiot. What GOOD is a gun going to do her if she is attacked from someone hiding in bushes & has less than a minute to react?" Pull out gun, aim, shoot!! Takes a second or 3! If he's hiding in the bushes, the bullet still finds him! The taser needs a clear open shot and will not go THROUGH the bush! The bush will help guard him against the pepper spray UNLESS he's immune to it!! (I saw a guy 2 years ago take a direct blast right in the eyes and not even blink!!) Then you could blast it right in his face and it won't stop him!! What's your next plan of action, throw all your money at him and then strip down and let him fuck you? Might as well, at that point!! The bullet will stop him immediately! No more worries!!

So that if someone breaks into my house I'm not just sitting helpless in a corner.
And how often has that happened in your neighborhood.
Not relevant considering it only takes it happening once for me to be dead or raped.
I have fire extinguishers in my house even though I've never had to use them either. Does that make me paranoid?

Force*
Because if a violent criminal decides to commit a violent crime against myself or my son I want to be able to stop that threat.
And what sort of gun do you have. How many guns.
Two 9mm semi auto handguns, a 38 special revolver, and a 12 gauge home defense shotgun.
Can I ask, why the semi automatics. I've always wondered at the rationale behind buying them.
A semi automatic fires one round for every pull of the trigger. A semi auto chambers a new round after a round is fired. Semi auto magazines can hold from 6 to 19 rounds depending on caliber and the gun.
I know what semis are. I meant why do you need them
As opposed to what? A single shot musket ala the Civil War?
Dumbass. A smith & western police revolver as example. Uneducated.
