Like i can hardly have a decent 5 min convo with anyone in person or online without them bringing up fckin marijuana . Fck that hoe mary jane, ion give af! They always be like “Damn i want some weed.” Or “Man I’m bout to roll up a blunt.” Or “You 420 friendly?”. It fckin irks me lmao. Like real talk, huge turnoff. Not everyone is down with the get down. I wish some people would just fall tf back and read the room. Seems like the pothead trend is shoved down our throat just as much as certain political matters. 🙈 #FeelFreeToList #DrugFreeZone

Haha, depends where you’re at, probably. Some places are more weed-friendly than others. Honestly, I’m starting to feel about alcohol the way you do about herb, I hate that people just assume you want a drink and look at you sideways if you don’t.
But yeah, probably a variety of factors are in play: the locale, the nature of the crowd you’re dealing with, and really just legality. It’s no harder for me to buy weed than it is to buy beer, I just need my ID and I can go to a dispensary just like one would go to a liquor store. So it’s just kind of getting to be more mainstream here, and as that happens, it becomes more like a polite offering.

At my age people don't assume others our age smoke weed, but we assume that they used to. And it's usually true. Like when I consulted and jumped around in a lot of engineering companies where I didn't know anyway. It didn't usually take long before weed came up - usually in a joking way. We just assumed it. It's an ice breaker and it doesn't usually take long to test the waters.

I think to some degree we could almost tell by looking at someone. Just look at them and think "Yup, an old hippie dope smoker." I don't know. There is just something about the look that gives it away.

When I was a teenager ( age 13-18) I smoked weed, then quit and smoked during my junior and senior year of university (age 21-22). Now I don't, I'm completely clean and don't even want to touch the stuff. Some people just really love the Mary Jane, ganja seeds, Kush, happy little leaf (that's what a friend of mine in high school it). Whatever you want to call they love it. I don't smoke anymore (that includes cigarettes and vaping nope don't do that either). The only green stuff I wang to deal with is money, green fruits, and green vegetables. Oh and green tea love it lol.

I'm a stoner but I don't assume others partake, even though in Canada, statistically, it's likely they've at least tried it.

My friends know, and I'm 100% the person who drops into chat with "yea I'mma roll a joint", but I don't force it on 'em. I chat sometimes about it if they have questions, but otherwise I don't really bring it up.

I do want to make more stoner friends, tho.

As a child, my school put me (and all the rest of my class) through the D. A. R. E. program, which was essentially "drug abuse prevention through scare tactics". The program as a whole backfired horribly; teaching kids "one puff of marijuana and you'll be hooked forever!" tells them that you were lying the moment they go to a college and meet users who aren't addicts.

The one thing that I continue to be surprised was never brought up is that long-term marijuana use can absolutely DESTROY your ability to SHUT UP ABOUT POT FOR FIFTEEN FREAKING MINUTES!

I’d be lying if I said I didn’t smoke weed cuz on occasion I do but I only smoke a small amount 1 or 2 hits , if I smoke more than that it makes me weirded out , I start feeling paranoid and think weird shit to the point it gives me anxiety , but if I smoke a little it relaxes me and helps me sleep better , I honestly couldn’t smoke weed every day and don’t know how people do so but for each their own I guess , It is crazy how weed is so acceptable now a days like all of a sudden it’s a medical drug and cure for many things , considering I grew up in times where it wasn’t really accepted , Just shows how controlled we are on this country.

You get that when you're dealing with the "party people" - the kind who can't get through a weekend without either weed or booze (or both) - and they mostly use them on the weekdays too. Most weed people tend to see everything in the context of weed.

But there are plenty of people who don't use weed - and they tend to not mix crowds with the weed smokers very much, because so many weed smokers want to do little else.

Most people assimilate information based on the expectation that most other people are more like them than not. That’s literally the only reason we experience things like racism, xenophobia, sexism, nationalism, etc. If we could reasonably maintain the expectation that more people are more different from us than not, discovering very different traits and behaviors wouldn’t be so surprising, let alone threatening. I don’t care if people do it, but I typically don’t associate with them because that’s all they seem to care about. I’m not interested in getting high and I barely drink- but regardless most of my friends are law enforcement, military or work in the energy sector so getting a positive drug test is career ending.

My friends vape it but they're chill about it. I've tried it, and never doing a gain so that's my take I took on the philosophy I'd rather pursue happiness that gives me the high. My career time frame, it is fun to talk about smoking marijuana. I have seen people's great careers turn disastrous for them because they chose to participate in an illegal substance.
