What is the appeal behind the "Dad bod" for women? Is it a trend or something else?

I don't believe a single woman in existence *legitimately* likes a Dad Bod or any overweight/obese man. Not even the women who are plus-sized or BBW, and not even the women's loving fathers had that same type of body. I have what would be called a "Dad Bod," so I'm the walking proof here.

Girls like to cuddle and a dad bod isn’t really hard like a body builder


Girls want to feel attractive and if the guy is ripped they may feel less good looking standing next to him


Girls like to spend quality time with their man so many would rather spend a Saturday going to the beach and hanging out with him then having him spend hours by himself at the gym

Many times girls are concerned a guy will level up or another girl will seduce him. So some feel more secure if their man isn’t in too physical shape as it’s less of a threat to leave them

I wouldn't date any guy with dad bod. I'm chubby, so I wouldn't going out with someone who's chubby too. But honestly, I don't find dad bods attractive at all. Bottom line, chubby is okay, dad bod is eh.

It's the fact the when you're out with her, you don't skip on the onion rings, but you'll still go for a walk in the evening. You're comfortable in your body which means instinctively, she'll be comfortable in hers.

There isn’t. It’s the mental aspect women are attracted too. Japanese women had a name for it, Cabbage Roll Man. Soft on the outside, tough on the inside.
