The corner store next to my house is selling a small toothpaste as thick my index finger for $3.00 dollars. He must lost his damn mind. 🙄

A recent trip to the grocery store for typical items (2-weeks supply) that would have cost $125 several months ago, ended up costing more than $200. That included the purchase of toilet paper, whose price hasn't gone up, but the size of the roll is now about 1 inch narrower than it used to be.
Interestingly, I got gas for the car today at $3.999 per gallon, the first time it's been under $4 in months.
Brooo I don't usually don't eat to much Grains. I'm allergic.
But j wanted a pizza from this mom and pop place it was like 6 dollars last time I went . Haven't been there in about a year.
I went there last week it was 8:50 for a regular pizza.
Im like I could went to dominos and got 2.
Seriously everything is getting way more expensive. wow. Seriously $3 for a mini toothpaste that's a rip off.
Big time.
Yes. I can deal with it but it’s hard watching people who can’t deal with it as well have to deal with it.
I’m sure it’s breaking you up inside.

Inflation? Not really.
Price gouging? Absolutely.
Most of the increase in prices and costs are not actually real but simply exploiting the world events. While I suppose it is inflation in the end the distinction of why it is happening seems paramount to me.
Of course. They all know if they raise their price you have no alternative in cheaper products.
None of it gets shipped to the store by gasoline.
It’s all Trump’s fault right?
Gtfoh.
You're missing the point here. I don't blame any president of any country for it. I also don't think Jonny down the street is to blame. However the increase in say, production of vegetable oil which is a very basic good that a lot of industries rely on, is not proportional to their increases in cost of production or even loss of earnings. As such them having shocking increases in price, which drives up the price of goods relying on it - but once again above the actual added cost - is price gouging.
It happening now, because of a minor war that while horrible has little impact on the world economy as opposed to the start of covid? That makes it abundantly clear it is price gouging.
Price fixing is also a highly illegal activity that any 8 year old could observe and point at. Economic theory is great but reality is never as simple as perfect competition assumptions.
So there’s a price fixing scheme across all industries? Not just the cost of gasoline passed onto the consumer?
You really like to shift it into being a world wide plot everyone is in on. Of course not. But price fixing, which was only a tangent to reference something obvious, is absolutely a common occurence in many industries.
The point of using that as a more approachable topic is that much like inflation and price gouging, the end result is likely the same. The way there is not.
But sure, even in the cases of gasoline the price is certainly moved up beyond the added costs. Not above the short term demand.
no, just got a great new job, my apartment has a pool and a gym in the building and I'm seeing the same prices at stores that i saw in rural massachusetts that i saw in philadelphia. rent was on average for such an apartment at the national level (though may have been lower a year or so ago i bet)
Yes I am I’m paying 68$ to fill up a tank in a Ford Focus are car that gets 32.7 MPG
Everything that I seem to use is at least twice when it was in 2020. The future worries the shit out of me.
Every day. This should be a wake up call to all the people who claim democrats are the party “of the people”. They don’t care about us one bit. We’re pawns on their chess board.
Doesn't affect my life but Im concerned about poorer people. Money is not a problem for me.
Joe Biden is a genius!
(that's sarcasm, by the way)
Joe Biden is doing a fantastic job. (Also sarcasm)
