I have one similar to the first one.. I have cushions around the frame.. you'll find it's the place your friends will zone to when they come round looking for advice on some recent drama haha its my therapist bed ha.
Not in my main living room tho it's in the family room

Yes, I do like Day Beds for a Living room, My cousin's late grandma always had one for him when he stayed all night cause he is handicapped and can't walk so she would put him on there.

Definitely! I sleep for 20 minutes approx from 2pm to 3pm. And the sofa like softness is a must for a good nap!

No. Beds are formally supposed to be in the bedroom. If you lived in a sorority or bachelor pad, sure. Sophisticated living room would not have one. Day beds are for the guest bedroom, sub room, back patio/porch.

  I am not sure. I'd imagine them to be a supplemental furniture, set against a window as a place to read and relax as compared to the main furniture in a large space.

If you live in a studio, maybe, but other than that, it's kinda weird to have in the living room instead of a normal couch.

No. I'm a spare room they are useful but the front room wants to be presentable and comfortable.
But you might have one if there's not much spare space in your dwelling because then your having to be smart.
