What is the worst advice anyone has ever given you?

Not sure, but maybe last month... came down a super muddy hill in heavy rain, with lots of thick mountain mud. So muddy my tire looked like this... not a lot of traction as you can see.

At the bottom a group of people asked if they could make it up the hill, I assumed they were as talented as I am at off roading. As I had gone up the hill in the mud and rain not two hours before just fine.

I said, sure you'll be fine... and all three of them got stuck in the mud later. Felt bad, should of told them no don't try it.

Thought about it later and thought, if they had to ask, I should of said no.

Live in learn for me and for them I suppose.

Plus those guys probably thought, if she can do it, we can do it...😂

my driving teacher before my exam. I was super anxious and couldn't relax. and he said "I want you to take all your stress and throw it out of the window" that seriously made me sooo mad. you can't tell an anxious person to just stop being anxious on command. And no I didn't pass on that day. I was legit shaking and even cried after hearing my mistake. Stress is not my friend.

Problem with this advice is that it suggests that "yourself" is perfect and you should not strive to improve.
Ideally when someone as social anxiety and dating problems you wanna encourage that person to work on the things that are stopping them, develop the needed skills and overcome the stigmas and fears. Once all that is done "being yourself" will suddenly be worth a damn.

Someone told me "don't waste you teen years studying". What the hell? If I don't focus on my studies and just have fun all the time then I'll fail. I'm sure I'll end up getting a low paying job or worst case: on the streets. That kind of advice I'm sure is something very naive people would take that could actually ruin their lives.

Anyways yeah they really dumb. Apperently it's a thing in surtain parts of Sweden further from the capital. I even remember as a kid my parent weren't that serious with locking the doors so I would always be the last one checking at night... they grew up in Southern Sweden so its commen there.
