My housemates dogs always want my food and always wait at my room door all the time. They are always sniffing on me and trying to jump all over me. They always enter my room when I'm coming out because they think I have food in there when most of the time I really don't. How do I train them from wanting human food or begging for it?
I started doing crate training more or left it was a your not allowed over here while there is food unless your in the crate. I did do a different method with other dogs where I would sit down at the table with food and if they tried to get it I would move it to the center of the table, out of their reach, once they calmed down I would give them a small treat and pull it back until they under stood that if I beg I won't get any. If you want them not to barge into your room peak out and tell them to sit wait for them to do so and then open if they instantly start rushing in close it back to just a peak tell them to sit again this teaches them that if they don't sit and wait they can't come in
Train them and include them. Let them eat around you and teach them not to beg for food. Pack reinforcement.
You feed them at the same time you feed yourself. And you feed them quality food made for dogs instead of shitty processed kibble or wet dog food slop.

Be strict and most importantly, be consistently strict. Use a louder voice to say „No“ and point out of the door. Drag him by the collar, if needed. Some dogs try to be the most dominant in the pack and it’s your job to deny them that.

Well with medium dogs its easy they dont sit on your lap and grab food. If you have a cat is the hard part they’ll try fish food out with their paws.
You can't. As long as people give him food, the dog will not change. The dog begs for it because he expects it because he is used to it.
If it lives around people who don't give him food, it will eventually stop begging.
- Feed them dog food at the same time you eat.
- don't feed them human food besides food that's non toxic to dogs as a treat
- teach the dog to sit and shut up while you're eating.
u train the humans first... then the dogs will follow through
Tell them no and redirect them tell them to go lay down or something and keep reenforcing it. Also tell your roommate about the issue
My friend trained dogs for cruft's a prestigious dog show. Never give them human food is her solution and they eat after you.
The sad thing once you feed dogs human food it's hard to stop them from wanting it
You never should have started doing that in the first place. So just stop now and tell your dog NO.
Very hard habit for them to break, you basically have to be dominant with them, they have to eat only dog food
