A friend went to a comedy festival and the comedian interacted a lot with the audience. Asked questions and made a crack about the answer. At a point he asked who owned a dog - most hands went up. Then he asked who owned a cat. Just my friends hand went up. There was a bit of an implication there like Pinay_ako recent question on whether guys with pet cats are a red flag to girls.
The comedian asked something like what do you think about that - setting up his joke.
My friend slaughtered him. He came back with 'Dog owners are needy' which they sort of are. Got a far bigger laugh then the comedian.
Pinay-ako just had to tail onto your Q after hearing that story this morning.
So what do people think - Dog owners are needy or not?

Dog owners are needy , they can barely look after themselves , so they need this third party to look after ( which really screws over long holidays ) , I can't tick any of those boxes , I've owned dogs and cats , most of my life , and the only reason I dont have a cat now , is because the Condo complex does not allow.
What condo rules don't allow cats. My complex tried to ban dogs because they bark but nodoby paid attention :). Do cats meow too loudly? I am interested in your condo's rationale. Presumably gold fish are out too.
Like you I have had cats and dogs my whole and like any social animal.

And in Thailand , you dont break the rules if you wish to stay , I had a cat , I had all her medics done , de sexing , everything , I had to find her a new home , and was very lucky to do so ( great home ) were I to reoffend? hmm no thanks.
I'm in Australia but I get it is different in Thailand. Enjoying it? Most people seem to love it there. I have not been there yet.

There are lots of street animals , this is part of the issue.

You can train a cat to be all over you. I can deal with being alone but I prefer being with people and it shows and how I raised my 2 cats. They will follow me to the bathroom, they'll follow me to the kitchen, they will be with me everywhere. At least one cat will be following me at any given time.
Mine sits beside me whilst I am on the computer. I'd prefer he didn't like taking a dump when I do because is too slow at it and I feel I shouldn't interrupt him.
