How long are female cats in heat?

Each heat generally lasts several days with the average length being seven days, although it can range from 1 to 21 days. If the queen (an intact female cat) is not mated during estrus, she will go out of the heat for a short period of time, usually about seven days, but it can range from 2 to 19 days.

first time? it might look a bit dramatic and seem like she will be in pain and freaking out but she will be absolutely fine, just keep her indoors and make sure that she cannot escape and go outside, especially if there are male cats out and roaming around because she could try and escape

she will be extra affectionate for some days, so just try to comfort her... and maybe keep her in one bedroom for the time being, but do not leave her alone

Keep them indoors. Give them lots of attention, play with them a lot and make sure they have somewhere warm to lie. A hot water bottle, heated blanket, fireplace, radiator etc.
