How do you dispose of your trash?

Question

We have a small carbon footprint in my home. I haul ours to my martial arts dumpster and dump it after class (with permission of course, there is required key). They hardly use it unless they have a party. I help clean in exchange. Which is a win, win for me. I know the place is clean too. 🧼🫧

It's complicated. I have 120 L curbside bin for mixed trash emptied all 14 days, but it shouldn't contain plastic, metal, glass and paper. I have yellow bags for plastic and other packaging materials like Styrofoam or metal and plastic cans. Blue bags for paper and cartons, brown bags for glass, 20L stainless steel container for ashes from fireplace and 60L-120L green curbside bin for biomass and biodegradable stuff are optional.
Of course there is an option to order 600-4000L curbside bin for unsorted trash, but this option is really expensive and even not available in detached house districts.

Living rural there is no trash pickup and since liberals want us to drive less, I just burn it.

After all that is way cheaper than loading it up, tying it down so nothing blows out, then paying at my own expense to drive a 100 miles, then pay to dump it at a land field.

Burning trash is what everyone here does and it is legal.

I use my neighbor's trash can. I generate very little trash. Several years back the price of trash pickup skyrocketed. With the little trash I generate I estimated that I was paying $30 for each kitchen size trash bag. So I dumped them. I started sharing with my neighbor. I offered to go halves, but she didn't want any money.

We don't have trash collection service here (live to remote, the closest city is almost an hr drive)

We burn most of it in the winter with our wood

The stuff we can't burn, we throw it in the back of shed and wait for hell to freeze over.

I believe the hubby waits until our giant trashcan is actually full before he sets it out. It takes a while because we have a compactor and we compost and we're pretty good about recycling. I think he usually puts it out for pick up once a month.

Where I am from, the majority of us live in high rise buildings (flats) due to high population density. As a result every residential tower has some sort of rubbish chute at every level for us to throw our trash into, and it all goes into a centralised waste storage (each building has one), and garbage disposal takes care of it from thereon.

Most of the time I take it down to the river and dump it over the bridge. It decomposes faster that way.

I'm totally kidding, we pay for trash service. They come pick it up and take it to a landfill. No landfill is required to catch any wastewater coming off of the landfill. Every so often they put a layer of dirt down to speed up the decomposing process

I rent my own personal dumpsters yearly and I pay for it so it's fucking mine. The dump people take it out every week and that's that. I have one for trash trash and one for recycling... recycling gets taken out once every 2 weeks, so not every week for that.

Currently more urban, but as soon as I move out more after the wife retires, I'm going to get one of those dumpsters for leaves, brush, and shit like that. The green can.
