You mean you rented the whole house or staying with the family of the landlord as a paying guest? If someone is threating you, you have every right to tell him/her to leave or you'll call the cops or call the cops if you see them anywhere around your house. If you're leaving as a paying guest, just give a notice and leave.

If your name is on a lease agreement or rental agreement yes you can however if you are just renting a room & your name isn’t on any kind of agreement good luck.

Do you have a lease, or is this an informal arrangement? If you have no legal obligation for future rent payments, I think you should immediately start looking for another place.
