Would it be best for me to legally change my Muslim name as an Atheist?

Anonymous

I'm an Atheist that grew up as a Muslim when I was younger. I'm fully American, born in the United States and so was my parents, they use to be Christian but became Muslim.

I'm a bit hesitant on changing my name right now because I have bank accounts/fintech accounts, ID, passport, and online accounts (not social media) that needs my real name for professional work that I already have my full name on, and it seems like too much to go through to have everything changed if I change my name legally.

My name has Abdul and Muhammad in it and I don't like the meanings of the names giving their religious meaning, and Abdul means "slave of the" or "servant of the" which to me is a horrible name. But I don't think names should define a person, and I tell people that thinks I'm Muslim because of my name that I'm not.

Change name.
Keep name.
