What happens when a user gets frozen by moderators?

They can't access their account or post or answer questions. A freeze lasts, if memory serves, 72 hours. It can be appealed though. And likewise, another moderator can unfreeze the account.

As with reporting and hiding, there has to be justification. If a user is harassing other members (sexual, racist, etc.), they'll be frozen. If it's a duplicate account, if they are verifiably under 13, if the profile image features nudity or something blatantly offensive, or if they post or solicit illegal content (child porn, vouyerism, drugs, and so forth), they will be frozen.

Most of the time, when I freeze an account, it's usually because it's obviously a spam account. There was someone here over the summer who was posting nude photos of some member of her family that she hated and saying "hey, here's my super Christian (family member, don't remember which one) using sex toys!" I froze her for posting illegal content.

I believe it stays Frozen until admins get around to reviewing the issue.

It's the moderators petty penalty box. You are locked out for however long they say.
