I'm assuming you mean from the moment it hits my account. Well, this isn't FU money, but it would give me a significant boost.
First, I'd buy a house around here, somewhere in the ballpark of $350k (4 bedroom, 3 bath; outside the city). I'd then pay off the remaining lease that my girlfriend has on her apartment and move her in. I'd drop maybe $20k on a new wardrobe for us, and then I'd invite my parents and her parents out to an incredibly expensive meal where I'd ask for everyone's blessing in us getting married (mind you, I wouldn't tell anyone that I got the big lump sum, as I already make really good money and they'd probably think I was just being more showy with it).
I'd spend another $100k updating our cars, but the remaining $6.5M would be provisionally placed in a semi-liquidate fund for security and earning some interest on it.

I don't know. Probably go on a bender. Then go into super seclusion mode because everyone I know would want a piece. Just continue life like it never happened. I would continue to drive everything I own into the ground, or not? Maybe, I want to restore my current ride just because I love it too much, to make it last until I'm dead. I would take the time to visit the 2nd half of the United States I have never visited. Hotels and Motels until I'm exhausted. Making it a point to not stay in posh places. Just invest wisely, stock wise, precious metals and finding out just how I want to write out my will.
I would put myself in a medical wellness center for at least 6 months to get healthy again bi know this works because I have done it before.
When I was finally healthy again I would want to take a train ride all along the Southeast and into Colorado. The ride would be scheduled for the fall when all of the leaves are changing colors. This is a life long dream. I wouldn't want anyone else on the train except people I chose, like my son,
I would buy us a big house and get my son out of the house the State put him in and I would hire at least 6 caregivers to help me care for him. And the caregivers would have to look like they just came from Hooter's. Yep; He loves the girls 🙂.
Since a million dollars isn't really all that much I would keep the rest. As they say "Family first".
Creating a Swiss bank account and transferring that money over offshore fake firm and Holland foundation to this account. Never let know anyone you have money, especially banks in your country.

So considering you specified dollars and I'm not in America so I'll convert the amount to my country's currency.
That's basically 570000000 rupees when converted. So basically I'd pay for my university studies and doctorate studies. Buy my parents a nice house, and keep the rest money for regular use. I'm not really big on extravagant things to I'd keep the money for long term use. Probably invest in a bunch of stock as well.Reasonably? Buy a car. Practically? See if there is a way to move out of California before claiming the money since CA wants to steal from anyone leaving the state with over $400k. Then pay off the small amount of remaining debt I have.
Praise God for the blessing. Then I would pay off my debts. I would retire my parents and offer to buy my siblings houses and let them live in them rent free.
Clear any debt or standing finance issues of my parents, buy them and myself a really nice house that is easy to keep clean and organized. Put the rest away for later.
I would wait one year to see how much I owe in income taxes and then I’d save some and give some to my family and I’d loan some to poor business owners and donate the rest.
