Why do I hate apologizing so much?

I really hate being in the wrong. I hate apologizing. Why?

Are you usually embarrassed or belittled when you admit you're wrong?

Also, apologies are only due when you hurt or offend someone. Being wrong doesn't automatically require an apology.

yes it's embarrassing to admit being wrong... it's like eating humble pie

Try separating things into "buckets". Like, if you make a mistake and kill the neighbor's cat, that's pretty big. But if you call a Coke a Sprite, let it go. Start to train yourself to back away from being embarrassed about all of it.

In that case think before you talk or act. That improve the odds that you don't have to.

I'm trying. Yet at some point, you find yourself at that position. I have a lot of pride that it's embarrassing apologizing.

The more you know the more you understand how little you know. Getting something wrong is the best opportunity to learn. Being right the whole time does not teach you anything.
